The Blind Beggar booked our band Element Orange this past weekend, and the venue, management, and staff were nothing short of professional and accomodating. Sound Tech was amazing, waitresses took care of us and our fans, and a great night was had by all. I would highly recommend this venue for live music, or just to be around the great atmosphere that The Blind Beggar has to offer.

We look forward to playing this venue again in the future!

User

Love this place! Wicked place to chill out and have a have a few beers or party hard and listen to local bands. The decor is really cool. Service has always been great! I’ve eaten there a few times and love their menu.

Highly suggest checking it out next time you hit the town.

Last night we had a fabulous evening at the Blind Beggar. The live music was super cool and the food was oh so delicious. We had great service for our waitress. We even got introduced to the general manger, who thanked us for coming! Looking forward to next Thursday!! Keep up the good work guys!

User

I love the new menu items and new prices. The curry mussles are my favorite and you get a ton for the price, especially on Wednesdays.

User

I love the Beggar atmosphere, the staff are excellent and the food is always delicious. It's also a great place to see a local band or three.

User

I eat there every time that I am in Calgary, you cannot go wrong As the food & service is great,

User

I can't speak for the food or drinks, just the venue and service.

The stage set up is great and the pub is really cool. Our poor waitress asked us many times during our visit (to see a band play for an original music showcase) if we needed anything. One in our group did get a drink, a virgin Caesar, which he enjoyed.

User

Hi we went to the pub feb 23 2018 to see Andre pettipas and the giants they were fabulous. We drove from saskatoon well worth the trip. Our waitress(not sure her name but she had green hair) We never had empty drinks im a waitress myself and know the importance of customer service. We made sure we tipped her well cause she went above and beyond. !!!! Great place will definently return

User

We went to see 2 bands play #Falussy & #groggysundays. Our wait staff were too damn efficient & we enjoyed many many wobbly pops with some late night snacks. It was a great night out! The setup is pretty damn cool & I’m happy we had our dancing shoes on!!

User

Was there last night the waitress in our section completely ignored us. We stayed because we were meeting people there. Other wise we would have left. One of us got up and went to the bar for menus a different server came and took great care of us! Glad we did stay the food was so good. And our new waitress was great.

User

Stopped in for supper, Food was great!!! Band from the Maritimes were very entertaining! We will come back!

User

Packed house and still had reasonable speedy service. Server was a delight. I will definitely go again.

User

A great celebration for our friend Gillian Rouleau who’s leaving us. They put a great effort into showing how much we will miss her. Thank you Adam and the staff for welcoming us and being accommodating for my Spoken Word performance.

User

Normally I would of gave a 5 star rating. Always had great service but I cane here for the awesome chicken pot pie. I was very disappointed that it is no longer on the menu. I live 2 hours away and come here specifically for the chicken pot pie! Please bring it back.

We went to the Blind Beggar to see a friends band play on Friday night. They did a great job and was happy to see them play. However the service was terrible. I️ am not sure if they are not used to a crowd on a Friday night? We sat there for over 20 min without getting acknowledged. I️ asked a few servers if we could get a drink and a menu and they just said “this isn’t my section”. I finally went to the bar to get a drink and a menu which took over 15 min as well. Once those drinks were empty it was the same challenge to get the second drink and to order food. If we weren’t there to see a friend play we definitely would have left. Finally we were acknowledge by A server named Melanie. She did inform us it wasn’t her section but realized our frustration and had seen how long we were waiting for service. She was great and looked after us despite how busy they were.

So I have been to the blind beggar more then a few times and it's usually great, great food, great service! Ideally great sound but since the new sound guy has takin over the booth he's been just killing the vibe. He needs to take his job seriously even if it's just a jam night. I see many talented people play and they're just being totally messed around with. Especially the singers, making them sound like they are in a tubes commercial. I often like to promote the band I'm in by playing open mics and on three diffrent occasions this sound guy has turned me up and turned me down , sometimes completely. And it really messes with how I perform our music. Please consider fixing this problem. I am Hopeing the best for your business. I know the sound there is hard to control, but it is what it is and when dealing with touchy set ups, it really helps to be on top of the game. A huge part of that is providing decent sound quality to the listeners and the players. I really like the blind beggar but I can't play there if I am consistantly being thrown off my game by feed back and things that are totally beyond my control.

Hopefully you guys can work things out.

My husband I were there Saturday night to see soundskraper play. I don’t understand why one band was allowed to reserve one third of the bar. I sat at the banquet because sitting on a bar stool was hurting my back. The young women who were sitting at one table came over to where I was and rudely told me to move that it was their reserved spot. There was plenty of space at the four other tables they reserved. So back to the bar I went. Every time those girls walked past me, they bumped into me. Very uncalled for. I then went to the bathroom, one of the guys from their party was sitting my stool. There was a coat on the back. Yes I flipped and told them to go back to all their tables. I would expect the bands and their friends would respect other people in the bar. Unlikely I will be back to your venue along with many other people who saw what happened. My husband and I are disabled, being at the bar was not good for us. There was plenty of space at their tables but they wouldn’t let people sit there. All the wife’s of soundskraper were crammed into one spot. Uncalled for! Reserving should not be allowed, it

should be first come first serve. Also parents of other band members were sitting on stools way in the back. I didn’t appreciate the girls and some of the guys looking at us and band members that they were better then us and other people in the bar. I’m very pissed. No I don’t want a free meal. Right now I don’t even want an apology

User

Rudest waitresses and bar manager I have ever come across. No wonder there was almost no one in there last night. They should at least understand the basics of customer service because that’s their business. Wow!

The stage set up is great and the pub is really cool. Our poor waitress asked us many times during our visit (to see a band play for an original music showcase) if we needed anything. One in our group did get a drink, a virgin Caesar, which he enjoyed.

We went to see 2 bands play #Falussy & #groggysundays. Our wait staff were too damn efficient & we enjoyed many many wobbly pops with some late night snacks. It was a great night out! The setup is pretty damn cool & I’m happy we had our dancing shoes on!!

Was there last night the waitress in our section completely ignored us. We stayed because we were meeting people there. Other wise we would have left. One of us got up and went to the bar for menus a different server came and took great care of us! Glad we did stay the food was so good. And our new waitress was great.

Stopped in for supper, Food was great!!! Band from the Maritimes were very entertaining! We will come back!

User

Packed house and still had reasonable speedy service. Server was a delight. I will definitely go again.

A great celebration for our friend Gillian Rouleau who’s leaving us. They put a great effort into showing how much we will miss her. Thank you Adam and the staff for welcoming us and being accommodating for my Spoken Word performance.

Rudest waitresses and bar manager I have ever come across. No wonder there was almost no one in there last night. They should at least understand the basics of customer service because that’s their business. Wow!

This pub has great wings, burgers, steak sandwiches and beef brisket are great. The entire staff are awesome and service is exceptional. Have a few laughs with Ryan (bartender) or some of the coolest regulars. Thursday is Open Stage night which has rave reviews. If your down in Calgary South do check out this place. ⛤⛤⛤⛤⛤⛤⛤⛤ Stars Galore!!!!

User
