Blues On Whyte / Commercial Hotel

It's with a heavy heart that today was my last day at Blues on Whyte. This place has been my home for 8 years and I will always have great memories of my time here. I would first like to thank all my fellow staff over these years for making me look good. Each and every one of you have played an important part in my development as a manager, without you I couldn't do what I do and changed blues like we did. So now this leads me too the owners. I would like to personally than...k Rose Ross and Ron Rodomski for putting up with my opinionated personality and stubborn ways. As you know I make my opinion known. If it wasn't for your leadership I would never have found my true potential. Now last but not least to all the extended family of blues on whyte (that means you customers) if not for your passion for live music we (blues on whyte) would not be the venue we are and I would never have become the manager that I have. So thank you for all the great memories and funny whyte ave stories. I'm looking forward to my next challenge and seeing all of you when I visit. Till next time my friends

The renovation was long over due. It's always been a great spot for one of the best venues in Edmonton.

The updated stage and room is far better than the days of old.

A great room has turned into a spectacular one.

The best place to perform! Awesome staff and Denton Morrell is absolutely the best GM.

The Blues On Whyte is legendary. I had the honour of playing that stage 3 times and each time brought me back to an earlier time when I was walking by that bar, on a sunny day with my Mom and hearing the incredible music coming from inside... I later learned that dream of music and that it was something I wanted to do forever... and eventually playing at The Blues added a serious dream come true to my list. Thanks for keeping the blues ALIVE on the other side of those Brick walls, guys!

If you want a place to sit and relax for nobody bugs you and they have great music and good prices go to the Commercial Hotel it's an awesome place

I really like the people there and all the staff are so friendly. Especially the front desk folks, they are so helpful and nice. And I like the managers, they manage quite well.

I had the pleasure of working here for almost a year and a half before returning home to Ireland. Now that I'm back on Irish soil, Blues on Whyte is ever more appealing than it was before. 7 Nights a week of live music, the Saturday Jam and there annual Bloc Party are things I greatly miss. Definitely worth the visit should you find yourself passing through or in Edmonton in General.

I am 60 years old have been going to Blues on Whyte Saturday Jams since I was 18 years old. 42 years of great blues music, awesome staff and people. It has and always will be my favorite place to go. Always someone I know there to spend pleasurable time with. Love the Blues on Whyte!’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į

Good music, friendly staff, amazing BLUES Venue.’┐Į

Free music, cheap alcohol, good dance floor, pool tables, recently renovated. Last three acts to roll through that I saw were Sam Spades, Bill Durst, and Boogie Patrol. All were good, and they play multiple days so lots of chances to see them.

Congratulations on the renovations, I could not believe how perfect the look. I am a long time fan of Blues on Whyte and I was afraid to see it 'pretty-ed up' but the designer did things with respect to the character of the building and with a cohesiveness that impressed at every turn. Glad I arrived while the lights were still up and the crowds were not there so I could walk around and see all the details. Wonderful job!

Blues on Whyte presents some of the best live music in North America and that is this strength of this little club . The recent renovations allow a better view of the stage and the dance floor is always popular .
