Boulevard Exteriors And Siding

Boulevard Exteriors is by far one of the best companies I've dealt with in Calgary. We recently had them replace the entire exterior of a large seniors building in Strathmore. We all went in to the job with the understanding that there would be challenges under the siding. The previous company installed the product wrong and the walls were found to be rotten. Boulevards price, timelines, professionalism, and ability to deal with the unknown challenges were exemplary of what a good company should be like.

As a General Contractor myself, I know that we rely on our sub-trades to get the job done as best as possible, and I can honestly say that Boulevard made us look like heroes. All of the issues we found from the rotten walls to the mouse holes were dealt with. We even had an outside inspector try to pin an issue on us. Boulevard proved to my client that everything was done by the book and inside the codes and even had an engineer sign off on their work. We cant thank Boulevard enough for their commitment to the job, and we will for sure be using them in the future.

I hesitated to write a review and I waited awhile after the job was finished to keep my emotions out of it. Boulevard was possibly one of the most inconsistent, unprofessional companies we have ever dealt with. The initial start up with Vanessa was pleasant and her knowledge and advice was refreshing. They were able to start our job early so we were surprised and excited. That excitement quickly turned to apprehension and regret. The crew showed up sporadically and for very short periods of time. They told us the lead was dealing with some health issues and we were sympathetic to him and his crew. However, they took that as their invitation to slack off even more and take a 9 day vacation in the middle of the job. They often made a mess of our yard and our neighbor's. They never cleaned up the site and piles of wood and untidy metal ruined our lawn and driveway. Our neighbors and ourselves spent hours cleaning up all the nails and metal shards in our yards so our kids could play outside. They rarely cleaned up anything. They were rude and treated us like jerks because we wanted the job we paid for to be done properly. They cut many corners and tried to hide mistakes and were upset and rude when we asked the company to fix them. It took 4 times as long than the quoted time to do the job. It took 5 weeks alone to remove and replace the siding when other homes in our neighborhood were having their entire exteriors renovated in half that time. They broke our Telus box and destroyed our fence and tried to cover it up. When the owners found out about all the issues they apologized profusely but never really offered to right the wrongs. In the end they ignored us and avoided our project for over a month until they finally decided they need the rest of our money. They showed up to make a list of what need to be done and then tried to make excuses for why those jobs couldn’t be done but weren’t willing to adjust the price. In the end we are ok with the majority of the work but still felt slightly ripped off. We do not feel like we got what we paid for. There were a few bright points in this dark experience. The electrician they recommended did a fantastic job and the guy they hired in the end (to try to tie up all the lose ends) was professional and a hard worker. They told us a few times that they appreciated that we were so patient and would be sending us out for a nice meal on them to say thank you for our patience. We appreciated the gesture, however that never happened. I would absolutely recommend going with another exterior company and not allowing the positive reviews fool you.

We are very pleased with Boulevard Exteriors. They transformed the outside of our house from old and ugly to something we now love to come home to! Feels like a brand new house. They were very professional and pleasant to deal with every step of the way. Thank you for a job well done!!

I called Boulevard due to my house being extremely cold, I had old windows and a bay window in my master bedroom that was poorly done (not original) and causing a lot of discomfort. Vanessa came over and explained what they can do to better insulate the house not just with the new windows but with adding insulation and new siding as well. I appreciate that she worked within the budget I gave her (although my own desires put me a little bit over). The work went well, Matt worked very hard and I'm very proud of the way my house looks now.

We are thankful to have found BVD Exteriors. As we are not a hail damage client, we were eager to update our bungalow in Maple Ridge and we were looking for quality. After we signed the contract with Vanessa, she sent out an interior designer who helped us through the colour scheme with Hardie and stone. Once the team was here to install, they were fantastic. The father and son team have been installing siding for over 25 years, possibly more. They were polite, hard working, and extremely amiable with our two dogs. It's the little things, they replaced the outlets, fixed our fence, installed lights, painted some extremities, fixed soffit, made the house beautiful, ... list goes on and on. The best compliment with this company is that it is here to stay, they are proud of the finished product, we felt safe spending our money, and in a prosperous city where services are at a premium, you have to be careful about who you want to invest with. Oh, yes, and the compliments!
