Beautiful walking trails by the river is an understatement. This is easily one of the best parks in Calgary. The natural springs on the western part of the park that feed the river are a geological marvel. A very spiritual stroll through time.

Bowmont is one of the better parks in Calgary. The city disappears as soon as you drop into the ravine. There are lots of trails to explore that are good for walking, running or biking. There are trails for all ages. My 3 year old could walk them all but my 1 year old had to be carried through some of the steeper bits. You can get all the way down to the river or walk the ridges with good views.

Some people don't pick up after their pets which is not okay, and there are often individuals without pets who walk through the park who tend to may make some unkind remarks about pets, but, ultimately this is a quaint enclosed off leash park with lots of great pets and people. There is a short walk down an on leash path outside the gated area to the river which has shallow rocky parts for pets to play in the water that isn't deep or fast moving.

We love living near this park and walk in it almost daily. Waterfall valley is a favourite little walk especially on a warm day. Love seeing how well used the paths are within this park and my kids just love walking here.

My fur babies go to. I prefer the North Park and the peninsula off leash areas. Too many low class folks with poorly socialized dogs in the South fenced area. We've had a number of... Incidents with riffraff. The final was when a sweet elderly dog walker was punched in the face by some tribal tattoo sporting, knuckle dragging, mouth breathing troglodyte. Stay away from the South fenced area and you'll have a great time. The idiots aren't smart enough to find the rest of it

Superior wilderness in the area. Good trails for bike hike and pets to go for a sprint. Nice riverside trail. What to expect in inner city trails... !

A great place to take your dog. Then enjoy a walk along the river path.

Good place for walks, jogging, dog walking, birdwatching, fishing and enjoying being outdoors. It will be quite a bit better once the construction is complete.

Enclosure (fenced-in) area is very big, not ideal for dogs that cannot be trusted to be let off-leash. There is only one gate to proof the exit points in case your dog trails behind another family leaving the area. This is a beautiful park but avoid if your dog is a little world-'rounding adventurer when off-leash.
