As a mom and having the knowledge of being a dental hygienist i feel it is so very important to educate our children on the importance of caring for our teeth. It is also very important to take our kids to the dentist as early as there first tooth coming in. Kids should see a dentist every 6 months once they have all their teeth to prevent any major dental problems. Lets face it sometimes as parents we have to stand on our heads to simply just brush and floss our kids teeth, ...we miss places and that is why its important to let the dentist and dental hygienist check to make sure those places dont become a problem. First visits should be happy fun and non tramatic to the child, simply just educational.
