✨Our Training Perspective✨
Here at BBF, we use no aversive tools or methods; we achieve our goals using reward based, science backed training methods that are force free and low stress. We use treats and are proud of it! Treats help dogs build positive associations in life, as well as helps them create reliable behaviors that we can first reward with food treats and then fade those food treats in to life treats, or life rewards, like sitting to have our leash put on. instead of a food reward. We believe our dogs deserve to learn in the most hands off, stress free way possible! Part of BBF's biggest goal is to use these methods and transfer them over to grooming too! mainly the building the positive association up using food, but also training our dogs what we would like to see during grooming using lures, and also socializing our puppies to these things during that crucial socialization period before they turn 20 weeks old!
We also offer group obedience classes, our classes are not competition obedience, just pet obedience for the average pet owner!

We ❤ muzzles - Taking the time to condition the muzzle is SO important! - We want our dogs to love having this item placed on their face, so we need to make it rewarding for them! ... - Here are a few tips for helping your pup get used to a muzzle!
▪ Treats, Treats, Treats!!! The whole time they are engaging with or are actually wearing the muzzle, offer them treats. Once the muzzle goes away or gets taken off, the treats go away too! ▪ Practice in different contexts and settings - dont only use the muzzle for situations where your dog needs to wear it, place it on their face when they are just chilling around the house, or for a random walk once they are comfortable wearing the muzzle for a length of time! This will also help them learn the muzzle is fun to wear everywhere! ▪ Build up the amount of time the muzzle is worn, but vary times; this way fido cant predict how long the muzzle stays on and become intolerant of it on his or her face once that time period is over
Muzzles arent a bad thing! They keep everyone safer and are a very valuable tool to learn to wear, even if your dog never needs one! Its always good to plan for things just in case!

We took Bowie here today for his first groom! He has always been a pretty timid little dude, but Nadia immediately made Bowie and I feel comfortable. She did a fantastic job on his haircut - I think we have mentioned at least 10X today, 'Wow - he looks REALLY awesome!' If you have an aussie - or longer haired pup, I'd definitely recommend this place!

The first time I took my puppy here, it was only supposed to be a one time thing. Very quickly I realized the benefits of taking Roman here regularly — it is a rare thing to find someone who is as in love with and committed to your pet as you are, but Nadia and her team truly go above and beyond. Their force free training, behaviour controls, and play style groupings make me feel confident that my dog is safe and cared for. I truly can not recommend this place enough. I will return over and over again.

Nadia is phenomenal! My poodle, Bailey, used to get so stressed out when she was groomed, but thanks to Nadia, that's all in the past. She's also bathed & tidied Shamus, my crotchety German Shepherd, with no trouble. Nadia is so patient & gentle & is worth her weight in gold! She has an affinity for animals that shines through in her work.

Nadia is amazing!! We had some issues with 2 of our dogs having a disagreement and Nadia had been to my house twice and we are already seeing a change. She is so wonderful and works with the girls level of comfort and at their speed. I would recommend her time and time again!!

Nadia has the kindest heart of any human I know I trust her with my dogs 100% and they are always happy and excited to see her!! She is very knowledgeable and always goes the extra mile to help you and your furry friend!

My nervous dog LOVES this place. Nadia is so good with the dogs, and has created a very special low-stress salon. And my dogs always look fantastic after seeing her.

My dog loves Nadia, who is so patient and loving with her. Enid is scared of clippers and scissors (and flowers, and snowmen...) Nadia really knows her stuff and can get Enid groomed up and looking fantastic!

I love bringing my girl here. The staff always takes their time to help her past her anxieties. I trust them implicitly!

Nadia's willingness to fix the problem is commendable, and I will definitely return to her next time!! Great work!
