Great service for a Saturday evening (February 18). Got there at 5:30pm and our waitress Randi was amazing. Not just with us the adults but my 3 boys. She was great and attentive to anything and everything they required. The best was her taking it in stride when our 13 month old lost his temper over his pizza. The food was Fabulous! Our boys couldn't get enough of their pizzas and our hamburger and fettuccine were delicious. Not to mention the desserts. I

***EDIT*** We heard from the general manager after I put this review up. He was very apologetic and agreed that there should have been better service after a mistake. He then sent us a letter and a gift card to have dinner again on him, and promised to follow up with the appropriate staff so the same thing doesn't happen again. Mistakes happen. While it could have been dealt with sooner, the way he made it right was great, and I appreciate how he went above and beyond. Thanks a bunch. Looking forward to using our gift cards soon.*****



Original review: We ended up here for dinner after our first three choices were closed (Sunday eve). Our food was good, but really small for the price. $8 poutine was tiny, then my meal sized salad was only half full - literally. Half salad, half not-even-full chicken breast on the other side. We asked about it, and apparently they made it wrong, was supposed to be a full bowl. Our waitress was really helpful, but the manager only offered 25% off because "I didn't ask about it sooner." Come on guys, that should have been comped. Not great customer service.

And the most disappointing was when my daughters meal came with nuts when she had requested NO nuts.

Our food took forever to come to our table, we had grocerys in the car thinking we would be in and out within 30 minutes we were there over and hour and a half. Because it took so long for the food we had to flag down the waitress to get another round of drinks, she never came over to ask us if we wanted refills. Food was to pricey for the quality!!

Well not sure where to start. This was our second time to Browns in Okotokes. The first time we visited Browns in Okotokes we had glass in our food. We were presented gift cards to try and smooth over the horrible experience and decided to give it a second chance.



Once again very disappointed. They were switching over the menu tomorrow so decided to be out of everything they were switching over. My husband ordered the pad Thai which had rancid shrimp. The manager agreed that it was bad. So he ordered the chicken burger (a safe bet) with a caeser salad instead. 20 minutes later out comes his burger with THE WRONG SIDE fries and gravy...burnt gravy. At this point in time I'm finished my meal. Takes one bit of his burger and the bacon is raw...completely raw. The manager did not have the decency to quality check our table. Out comes the bill without asking us if we were done. We had the two gift cards from our previous crappy experience to pay. The hostess did not know how to process this method of payment so went to ask the manager how to process. Rather than coming to our table to ensure we left happy he sent her back with instructions that she still could not follow. He completely avoided us. Another server came to the table to process our payment.



Needless to say we will never be back. Very disappointing considering we LOVE Browns in North Vancouver.

We should have left then but being New Years we figured we would not get in anywhere else. We asked about how cold it was and the waitress said the hearing is in the roof and takes time to warm up. After bill was payed we find out furnace isn’t working right. 4-6 meals were not great. I was warned from friends that the food wasn’t great but wanted to find out first hand and sorry that I did. On the plus size the waitress was great and I was happy when she put her winter jacket on. Very disappointing dining experience.

Very unimpressed with the service. We sat at the bar as there was a half hour wait for a table. One of the meals was wrong, and we waited a few minutes before a manager came over to give us the fries to "nibble on" while waiting for the meal to be re-made, to which there was no apology. About 10 minutes later the server who originally brought the wrong food came over to tell us it was being re-made, but included she didn't come sooner because she was too busy, although we could see her standing in the expo window. During this time we received a flat beer, which when re-poured was the wrong beer. After all this, the food was not discounted and our original bartender never came back to talk to us, or acknowledge that the food was made wrong. Very disappointing.

Terrible, Insulting Staff - We arrived around 6:35 on Friday of the Thanksgiving Weekend, we knew getting a table for 5 could be tough as Browns would/should be busy but they have been good before so we wanted to try. At first, the dark-haired, twenty-something hostess told us we would be 30-45 minutes without looking at her reservation sheet, or the six open tables of at least four or more. Let me state my party was 2 adults and 3 small children, so throw an extra chair on a table for four is more than enough room. I was disappointed to hear 45 minutes but put our names down on the list; that's when I noticed only one other reservation for a group our size. The only other folks waiting were a family of 2 adults one baby, so I did not think we would really be 45 minutes. At one point when I noticed the hostess sat the group of 3 at a booth that probably sits 6 or 7; I asked why there were so many tables that could fit our group while we waited. she asked if we would sit in a high table, which I answered definitely yes, whatever is fastest because we have kids to feed. Then she proceded to sit everyone else who came into the restaurant after us, before us. By 7:15 we had enough, we had to feed our kids so that meant somewhere else. When my wife and I confronted the hostess she said that she thought we needed/wanted a low table for the kids (of which there was two and still one available that had sat empty the whole time we were there) which was completely not what I had said 45 minutes earlier. My kids are old enough to sit upright by themselves (grades 2,5,6). She could tell we were mad but would keep looking past us as we told her how disappointing the service was. She purposely sat others so that we had to wait her 45 minutes; she sat parties of 2, and three at tables of 4, a group of 4 at a table that was set for 6. It was spiteful and unprofessional. A couple of other staffers tried to ask if someone has talked to us as they saw us waiting almost an hour with kids; but the hostess "had it under control. Okotoks is a town with a need for more restaurants, and Browns had been a good choice for us; we really do not want to eat there again. As we tried explain to the hostess why we were leaving she was condescending, plastering on a fake smile and tried to play the wait as our own fault. If this staffer is what patrons are going to get when they come to Browns then just shut down now. A successful restaurant goes with staff that are welcoming and enthusiastic; with staff like you have in a small town like Okotoks people talk, and people will not go to Browns. It will be a lot harder to re-built a clientele, after your callous hostess has driven us away. And as a bonus, when we went to another restaurant right after this we ran into friends (with kids) and when we told them this story they told us they too had just come from your restaurant and left due to the wait and the staff at the front door. Its a shame, but its a shame on you.

New menu. They took away all their good stuff. Not happy with what's left. I'm embarrassed for them on their choice if house wine...Naked Grape! Yuck. And, there was a big black hair resting comfortably UNDER my burger. Gross.

I will say that the hostess and server were very friendly. Unfortunately the food just doesn't deliver. Had a $17 salad that had 3 very small pieces of chicken. The "greens" were cheap, and it was the size of a small side salad. When we complained to the Manager, she explained that the portions are small because their freezer is small in the back and is full of mostly bread.... might want to work on that aspect. Strange experience!

Horrible experience. I came with both my kids and my husband. Our food was late, It was cold and we got our food before the kids so they ate our food with us. Waitress did not seem too even like her job. Overall after spending over 70$ very unimpressed and something better be done about it.

One of the meals was wrong, and we waited a few minutes before a manager came over to give us the fries to "nibble on" while waiting for the meal to be re-made, to which there was no apology. About 10 minutes later the server who originally brought the wrong food came over to tell us it was being re-made, but included she didn't come sooner because she was too busy, although we could see her standing in the expo window. During this time we received a flat beer, which when re-poured was the wrong beer. After all this, the food was not discounted and our original bartender never came back to talk to us, or acknowledge that the food was made wrong. Very disappointing.

Terrible, Insulting Staff - We arrived around 6:35 on Friday of the Thanksgiving Weekend, we knew getting a table for 5 could be tough as Browns would/should be busy but they have been good before so we wanted to try. At first, the dark-haired, twenty-something hostess told us we would be 30-45 minutes without looking at her reservation sheet, or the six open tables of at least four or more. Let me state my party was 2 adults and 3 small children, so throw an extra chair on a table for four is more than enough room. I was disappointed to hear 45 minutes but put our names down on the list; that's when I noticed only one other reservation for a group our size. The only other folks waiting were a family of 2 adults one baby, so I did not think we would really be 45 minutes. At one point when I noticed the hostess sat the group of 3 at a booth that probably sits 6 or 7; I asked why there were so many tables that could fit our group while we waited. she asked if we would sit in a high table, which I answered definitely yes, whatever is fastest because we have kids to feed. Then she proceded to sit everyone else who came into the restaurant after us, before us. By 7:15 we had enough, we had to feed our kids so that meant somewhere else. When my wife and I confronted the hostess she said that she thought we needed/wanted a low table for the kids (of which there was two and still one available that had sat empty the whole time we were there) which was completely not what I had said 45 minutes earlier. My kids are old enough to sit upright by themselves (grades 2,5,6). She could tell we were mad but would keep looking past us as we told her how disappointing the service was. She purposely sat others so that we had to wait her 45 minutes; she sat parties of 2, and three at tables of 4, a group of 4 at a table that was set for 6. It was spiteful and unprofessional. A couple of other staffers tried to ask if someone has talked to us as they saw us waiting almost an hour with kids; but the hostess "had it under control. Okotoks is a town with a need for more restaurants, and Browns had been a good choice for us; we really do not want to eat there again. As we tried explain to the hostess why we were leaving she was condescending, plastering on a fake smile and tried to play the wait as our own fault. If this staffer is what patrons are going to get when they come to Browns then just shut down now. A successful restaurant goes with staff that are welcoming and enthusiastic; with staff like you have in a small town like Okotoks people talk, and people will not go to Browns. It will be a lot harder to re-built a clientele, after your callous hostess has driven us away. And as a bonus, when we went to another restaurant right after this we ran into friends (with kids) and when we told them this story they told us they too had just come from your restaurant and left due to the wait and the staff at the front door. Its a shame, but its a shame on you.

See my wife's post below. Absolutely terrible. Save your money as it is completely over priced for way below average food. I am the type of person who likes something everyone will know. I will tell everyone about how bad your food is and service.

New menu. They took away all their good stuff. Not happy with what's left. I'm embarrassed for them on their choice if house wine...Naked Grape! Yuck. And, there was a big black hair resting comfortably UNDER my burger. Gross.

I will say that the hostess and server were very friendly. Unfortunately the food just doesn't deliver. Had a $17 salad that had 3 very small pieces of chicken. The "greens" were cheap, and it was the size of a small side salad. When we complained to the Manager, she explained that the portions are small because their freezer is small in the back and is full of mostly bread.... might want to work on that aspect. Strange experience!

Horrible experience. I came with both my kids and my husband. Our food was late, It was cold and we got our food before the kids so they ate our food with us. Waitress did not seem too even like her job. Overall after spending over 70$ very unimpressed and something better be done about it.
