We had a problem with water entering our home through our siding and windows. We had a few individuals try come to try to fix the issues and after paying these people, the issue was not resolved. We heard about Building Works and called them after the water started to enter our home again.

Eric showed up immediately after we called so he determined rather quickly on what the issue was. He sat down with us and provided us a detailed hand drawing and solution to the problem. Eric showed us the many years of experience that Building Works had in doing these types of repairs. We were concerned about mold in our home and Building Works has a company called Mold Squad that provides Mold removal and remediation services.
Eric also showed us that Building Works partners with a company called Finance It and they quoted a simple and reasonable finance plan for the repairs.

A detailed quote was provided to us within a few days and we decided to have the work done. This took a while to schedule the repairs as Building Works seems to be a very busy company.

The Building Works Crew came and did this work all in less than one day , which was quite impressive. They removed the entire siding on one side of the home, removed two large windows with the trim, replaced the old vapor barrier with a new vapor barrier, re-installed and re-sealed the windows, and replaced the siding.

Building works staff worked quickly and were courteous. After the job was done they repainted the interior trim and walls, cleaned the entire site, and cleaned the interior of our home. We are waiting for a service agent to come and repair our ceiling and will comment on that later.

I would recommend Building Works to anyone that is having problems with your home envelope Windows, Doors, siding, including and kind of mold problems. They are a decent company to deal with and we are quite satisfied with the repairs so far.

During the Flood Event in July 2013, I had the good fortune to be referred to Building Works. My first impression was that the quote on the damages and the repairs were specific and detailed, unlike others that were vague. Because water damage was a concern, this company had a division that dealt with mold. I found the owner of the company to be an ethical and moral man and would highly recommend this company.

The team at Building Works is a group of extremely knowledgable and experienced individuals and I highly recommend their services for any issues you might have with your home that need fixing. The Krauses have a long history of working in the industry and I can guarantee you that their work ethic is second to none.

My husband and I have several older properties throughout the city of Calgary and over the years have hired many contractors for various projects. Our experience with Building Works has been nothing but positive. The Project Managers we have dealt with have always been responsive and eager to address any and all of our concerns. The process is usually fairly quick, with a PM meeting us on site within a day or two and, depending on the complexity of the issue, we can generally expect an estimate within a couple days after the meeting.

Our initial contact was to address a leaky foundation for a property built in the 1970’s. We had met with several contractors and were told that the foundation was failing and was in need of extensive repairs. We met with Erich from Building Works and he explained exactly where and why the water was coming in. His solution was not only less than half the cost of the other contractors but, it was also permanent and less invasive with no need to dig up the landscape surrounding the home. This work was done almost two years ago and we have not had any problems since.

Since then we have had the Building Works team at several other properties addressing everything from leaks, to mold problems in bathrooms, to attic draft issues, etc. and not once have we experienced poor service. This is one of the few honest contractors around and the reviews above do not do this company justice.

Poor communication throughout the transaction, incorrectly estimate the requested work, and then didn't complete work that was on the estimate. The job didn't get done and I finally paid for what was done so I can get someone else to do the rest. I reached out in an e-mail with all my concerns and their response didn't acknowledge any of it. Working in the service industry myself I can appreciate the good and the bad, as well as I understand mistakes happen. How a company deals with the fumbles can make a 1star experience turn into a 5star. Unfortunately Building Works didn't even try.
