Great food. Great service. Fair prices.

Came here for dinner.

I had the Canadian Mountain Stew, and my sister had a Kids' Spaghetti.

The stew was hearty but somewhat salty. We were both given large portions of garlic bread to go with the food. It did not appear to be toasted, but I didn't mind. However, I do feel that I didn't get my money's worth.

The spaghetti was alright.

They have a self-serve salad bar, which made up for shortcomings.

The waiter was nice.

7.5/10

I come at 6pm and not many people, I was assigned in a bar with high table and high chair...

I order the prime rib with well done because I don't like raw feeling. The waiter (who stand inside the bar) told me well done is not good and suggest me medium rare, I told him I don't like the rare feeling I said medium well then, but finally he insist me on try medium rare ... and I should trust him.

The rib come very fast when I just begin eating salad. After then, he come to ask me how's the rib I said I still not try yet... ( what a typical service without seeing I eat yet).

The rib is just slightly higher than room temperature, and the tast is so so. The side dish bacon and potato taste better than the rib just because they are hotter! When I have just finished half of the rib, the rib is already cold ...

Moreover, both the table and chair are unstable and it is shaking the whole night and I have dropped 2 carrots on the ground @@

Just avoid going to this restaurant ! It is not worth especially you need to walk 20 min. from the down town.

I am so gald I have not order any drinks and have just pay 0.40 tips, ha ha. What you see in the photo costs CAD35.

We went here based on reviews. To be fair, my partner ordered a steak and was mostly pleased with his meal (he wasn't impressed with the salad bar).

I wasn't in the mood for a steak, so I ordered the seafood stuffed pasta. When it came, the portions were generous, but looked a bit odd, some of the pasta was dyed with black stripes.

I cut into one of the stuffed raviolis and took a bite. WOW, that was some raunchy rotten seafood. My whole mouth was filled with very spoiled seafood. We had to flag our waiter down, nearly 10 minutes into the meal. I kept trying to rinse my mouth with the water, but the awful taste would not leave.

When the waiter did come back (he was very nice by the way), I explained that the seafood was spoiled and not edible. He first looked at me with suspicion and as if I was being pretentious. He asked if they could make me another dish - um no... not going to have more rotting seafood. He then offered for me to order anything else off the menu (keep in mind, I wasn't in the mood for steaks and the seafood choice was about the only other thing on the menu). I told him I just wanted a piece of their chocolate cake so I could cleanse my palette, as nothing else was getting that awful taste out of my mouth.

Several minutes passed, and the waiter appeared with a very generous slice of their extremely good chocolate cake (with ice cream). He apologized profusely for the spoiled seafood pasta and stated that the spoiled seafood had been overlooked by the day staff. Anyone with a working nose could smell that seafood was rotten. I can't believe how that escaped the chef's judgment. But, they did admit that the seafood was spoiled, had I actually consume it, I probably would have become ill. Later, I heard the waiter tell another table that they were "out" of seafood for the day.

The chocolate cake did help clear the awful taste, but it was not a good choice as a main course. The piece of cake was very generous and I couldn't even eat it all, and I love chocolate cake. My partner couldn't even finish my cake.

Serving rotten seafood is not acceptable. 3 stars is being generous.

Love the food and the ambience. Prime rib is great. Going to come back

It's fantastic if you feel like traditional style beef. Some say it's bland but that's traditional cooking. I miss the old building I had a lot of character but there isn't a thing to complain about with the new decor.

This is a review based on the breakfast menu. The cost of the breakfast meals we felt did not match with the quality. A 'large' orange juice is also $5...

We had Sunday night steak special. Food was great, one steak order was overcooked otherwise fine. Perfect meal for the price. Service was good too.

We were a bit hesitant to come to the restaurant because of some previous reviews we read on here but we tried it anyway. We had an awesome meal at this restaurant! Service was excellent, the decor is nice, salad bar was fresh and the best beef and barley soup in the world.
We highly recommend it!!!
