C-zero is aimed at developing a patent-pending technology for separating CO2 directly from industrial off-gas and converting it into ethylene, the most widely used petrochemical in the world. Besides, Alberta being Canada's carbon hub in terms of cumulative CO2 emission (~260 million tons (Mt) /year), a well-developed technology by C-zero for translating this feedstock to valuable market products with diverse applications can generate a billion-dollar industry. The key competitive advantage of our technology is that it can bypass four intermediate steps of incumbent CO2 capture and conversion processes, including CO2 capture, regeneration, compression, and transportation, resulting in a 56% cost reduction and 46% GHG emission reduction as compared to incumbent technologies. Upon further optimization and upscaling, our mission is to avoid 1 Mt of annual emissions to produce ~0. 4 Mt of ethylene by 2030 to help transition toward Canada's net-zero commitment. As a result, we anticipate 10% penetration within Alberta's ethylene market to generate potential revenue of $ 80 - $100 million per year by 2030. Currently, we are reaching out to potential investors and commercialization partners for (1) technology scale-up and (2) process development (e. g. , couple our technology directly with industrial off-gas to generate ethylene etc. ).
