"On Dec. 14, 2017, the young couple came to the city with nothing more than hope, that life would give them a second chance to enjoy the simplest things we all too often take for granted: a feeling of safety and security."
Learn more about this couple, how we have supported them and what the community can do to help.

Our very own, Bindu Narula, Manager of Resettlement and Integration Services, sat down with Inn from the Cold to discuss what services we offer newcomers to Canada, complexities that immigrant families face in Calgary, and how the Calgary community can help.

Can we get a BIG round of applause for all of our past and present volunteers! Without them, there would be a gap within our organization. We appreciate all of their hard work throughout the entire organization. Thank you!

Be a friend.
If you’ve ever moved to a new place, you understand that you don’t truly feel settled until you’ve been welcomed by new friends. Loneliness can be one of a newcomer's greatest challenges. So say hello or lend a helping hand.

Our Community Connections for Newcomers program connects community volunteers with new immigrants - individually or in groups, to provide opportunities for learning, as well as settlement support to make your new country feel like ‘home’ again. Volunteers help newcomers to navigate the city and often provide the first friendship in Canada.

CCIS are working to enhance new immigrants knowledge to meet Canadian experience and culture in Calgary. I would say that I have received a useful information which I believe it is considered as key player in our new journey in Calgary.

From my perspective the Program is a significant improvement to Canada’s immigration system for new comers whether immigrants or refugees. Looking to enroll in New Chapter next week .. Cheers
