Went back in September to ask if my grandfather could get a reduction for a fishing ticket. Lady#1 had such a nasty attitude and dismissed us very quickly, telling us "there's nothing in the system." Didn't even try to give advice, like "come back next month and I can help you then." No. Just wanted us to leave. Fine.
We went back this morning, super early as to avoid the 1 hour wait time, and surprise! Calgary wasn't even the place to get a reduction, only to pay. (Yes, I read the ticket carefully. It did not state it had to be in Lethbridge.) Bad attitude lady couldn't even bother to let us know 2 months ago. Figures, since she didn't even want to help anyone. Thank god Lady#2 was much nicer.
My Grandfather, who is ~ 70 and is unable to work at his age, ended up paying $250 for allegedly taking a fish that "didn't meet requirements." (It had to be 63 cm in length to take that fish. It was a little bit OVER 63 cm on our measuring tape, but only 61.5 cm on the officer's. What a joke.) Amazing how taking a fish costs triple the amount of exceeding a speed limit. What's more dangerous, Alberta?

Reading these reviews while waiting in line was the best part of my whole day. Nice building. Elevators remind me of gringotts. Security and architecture remind you of being under a giant iron heel. The rude and dismissive staff complete the perfect picture by expecting you to know the system perfectly and sneering. Very well executed cattle style corrals for lines. I only give it 4/5 stars because most of the time it was impossible to tell how many people are available to help, but aren't. A windowed break room, visible from queues on all floors for staff to have fun and slack off would bring this up to a 5 star rating.

It's been a very bad experience. If you drive there, and are not familiar with downtown streets, I don't think you can find a parking stall and get to the court. Make sure you buy enough time for parking, cause you never know how long you should wait in there. If you ask for deduction, only one man working in the office, he gives you the deduction by calling your name in. He never listens to your explanation, If you insist on explaining something, he will say: I gave you an offer, take it or you can go to the court...Very rude, very disgusting altitude toward people. The day when I was called in, I said:"how are you?Sir."of course I didn't know his name, so I could not say his name. Guess what? That guy didn't answer at all!!!! Whom he thinks he is, I owe him nothing, no people wants to see this kind of people even one more single time. But sometimes, we have no choice, because he is in that position, I don't understand why he can do that? And how come this kind of person can work there!!!(I'll try to fucus on the complaints in there)

Closing in 4 pm. And terrible environment. Treating all people like a criminals when entering. And bunch of racist people too looking at you foot to head

I find it absolutely ridiculous that they have underground parking for judges but not one spot for a handicapped person. I would give it a -5 if I could.

Despicable staff. Rude, ignorant and incredibly unpleasent. The sole purpose of this building and subsidiaries is to generate funds to support the unlawful activities that are claimed to be "illigal". Ie extortion and unlawful confinement. There is something CLEARLY the matter with having a judicial system that performs as what can only be described as a cash cow bank. There needs to be change and oversight implementations as this "system" conflicts with the law itself and overall morality . Hypocrisy shouldnt be tolirated or accepted in any authoritative level, especially when threatened with your perceived freedom.

I waited 1 week to get time off work to come and have my ticket price reduced, apparently I hadn't waited long enough and my violation was not in the "system" yet. Unable to negotiate for a discount I turned back home. I recommend you give it some time before you decide to get gouged by these guys.

As far as court houses go it is a very nice building, where they store their prisoners 8 stories underground, and arent the nicest group of guys. The clerks are knowledgeable and helpful, and will point u in the right direction if not find ur problem.
No one wants to be in court so is never a plesant experiance. And parking is a nitemare everytime ive been there.

Do I really get to review the court system? Awesome. This is fun. Ok, so i've actually never been to court(knock on wood). But I did have the chance to defend a traffic ticket and I won. So despite the time off from work and the take a number system, it could've been worse.
