ELEGANT WINTER SOCIAL NOVEMBER 17th
The Elegant Winter Social is the winter edition of the very popular ongoing Country dance parties hosted by the Calgary Dance Stampede.
... Whereas we survived the Stampede and now the hot summer sunshine is upon us, this November’s social takes things to a new level and into a slightly more intimate setting.
But just like all the other great socials this year this is an all COUNTRY Social dance event in a family friendly atmosphere. Featuring DJ Entertainment | Door Prizes | Cash Bar | Late Night Lunch | Plenty of Free Parking | Large Wooden Dance Floor.
But with a little twist … Take Your Picture with Santa!
Yes, we put in a request to ol’ St. Nicholas and he has accepted an early appearance date with us, so dress elegantly, have a cocktail or two, dance, relax with friends and get your picture taken with Santa!

Chrissi and I would like to thank each and everyone of the over 200 people who came out last night to the Stampede Country Dance to dance, laugh, smile and simply enjoy the tremendous amount of love this dance family has for one another and to kick off Stampede week in style!
Thank you to all the amazing volunteers that helped make this incredible night happen; Ginger Bast, Gayle Thorburn, Brenda Olson, Sarah Jesty, Melissa Melville, Jean-Marie Dutilloy, Keith Anderson, Tom R...ubletz & Merrilee Beddows. You are all amazing and we could not have done it without your help!
Once a year we like to honor those people who dedicate their time and effort to helping build our local dance family (community) and progress the sport of Country Dance in Calgary (social or competitive) and this year we honored ML Bader. ML has been a large part of our local dance family for many years helping behind the scenes in any way possible. But it wasn't until she decided to step up and take on the responsibilities of being the President of the Country Spirit Dance Society a few years ago that she was really able to help tighten the common threads between all of us and with that help grow our community and welcome new dancers from all walks of life to experience the passion we all have for Country Dance. Congratulations again ML!
And not least ... CONGRATULATIONS to Wendy Berlando for winning a brand new pair of cowboy boots from the Alberta Boot Co.
