Incorporated in 1922, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) provides care for 5, 000 animals per year.

Calgary Humane Society Facebook Community Standards

At Calgary Humane Society we operate based on the values of empathy and respect for all living things with the goal of creating a more compassionate society. Our Facebook Community Standards have been developed to reflect our values. Our community standards can be summarized in three main categories:

Respectful communication:
All members are expected to be respectful in how they communicate at all times. We understand that from time to time there will be disagreements, but at all times the communication must remain respectful. Profanity, hateful comments, racist statements, libelous content and personal attacks will result in comment deletion, warnings or participation bans.

No solicitation:
Any and all fundraising /event notifications posted on Calgary Humane Society’s Facebook community must be given explicit permission. Solicitation of our community members for fundraising or petitions is NOT permitted. Absolutely no links to personal fundraising pages (GoFundMe etc. ) are permitted on the CHS Facebook Community. If you are hosting an event to raise funds for Calgary Humane Society that you would like mentioned on our Facebook page please contact our page administrator or our resource development team to discuss.

Respect for privacy:
Calgary Humane Society is engaged under provincial legislation to uphold the Alberta Animal Protection Act. As such, we have a duty to protect the integrity of the investigations we conduct. We also have a duty to protect the identity and information of our clients. Any posts that pose a risk to an investigation or are a potential violation of existing privacy legislation will be removed from the page.

Calgary Humane Society reserves the right to delete any posts that are in violation of our community standards, send warnings regarding community conduct and block individuals from further posting on our Facebook community at our sole discretion. If you have questions regarding our community standards or have a concern regarding the conduct of an individual on our community page, please contact our page administrator.

"Claude is such a great addition to our family and we love him lots. Evie cried when she first met him she was so pleased to have a kitty in the house again. Zac and Evie play with him lots and he has bags of kitten energy so loves his chase and kill toys and then just hanging out on the cat tree or wherever we are."

Lovely Loopy, the 13 year old Chihuahua/Pug mix, was accompanied by Clare at the noon show of CTV Calgary. Loopy is looking for a home and will make a great fetch partner or cuddle buddy, whatever you're into!
