Air Canada, bravo!! I am surprised how well my last trip was. The crew on the planes outshined Westjet with their smiles. I felt like the staff were unbelievable at every interaction. Started with the guy at the initial check-in, all the way through to disembarking... every staff member was happy and wonderful. Air Canada, well done. Now just work on your prices around Christmas... Cheers

As easy as ABC - Anywhere But Calgary!

With all of the technology today you would think they could come up with a great airport. Over $2 billion CDN spent on the International Terminal and boy did they miss the mark completely. It's like they didn't even consider what an airline passenger might want.

You can't get from one end of the airport to the other quickly or effectively. They do have the YYC Link which are 10 passenger electric vehicles (unless you have baggage) however they are slow and inefficient in moving enough passengers to be worth the money spent on them. You can walk if you want, but the distances are long and you'd need to power-walk to make some connections from International to Domestic.

Signage would help, especially if you have Nexus coming into the Customs Area from an International destination. This lack of signage leads to significant confusion (and delays). No dedicated Nexus security line going to the US is a joke as well. And would it hurt to put some seating at the gates instead of forcing everybody into the main hall in the International Terminal? I've never seen so many people sitting on the floor in an airport.

Make your travel less stressful and just bypass Calgary!

As owner of A Laptop Shoppe I like our airport, thanks to all the volunteers it's a pleasant place to be when traveling. Lots of creative ingenuity and beautifully designed exhibits make what could be a trying time, more manageable. I am disappointed with the cancelation of the free 30 minute parking though .

Impressive new International wing.
Small enough for easy navigation.
Clean and Calm environment.
Different art pieces keep the place interesting.
Adequate options for food.

Know the Gate or Zone before getting there for stress free visit.
Parking fairly expensive, use the Cell Phone Lot (which is free) to your advantage to avoid excessive changes .

This is a very nice, new airport. The staff are very lovely. However, it seems VERY unorganized. The security and check-in lines for international flights are long...too long for an international airport. The international terminal is far away from the domestic terminal, so we stood in the domestic area for a while without realizing we were in the wrong area.
The security lines are also long because the baggage security machines are very strange! Lots of boxes shooting in and out which means that someone who puts their luggage in first to be checked, may not receive it until long after they've been scanned. This is the only country I've seen where these machines are organized in such a strange manner. I think they intended them to be more efficient, but it just creates chaos and confusion especially if you've never seen something like it before. I will probably try to avoid this airport in the future.

Thanks for making me go through a security check point again on my way back to Edmonton. Why this airport feels the need to have travellers leave a secure area, only to have to go through security again to reach their connecting flights is beyond me. I also loved watching the people with pets and elderly in wheel chairs forced through the check point being treated like criminals. Really heart warming YYC...

P.S. People can't hear announcements over the P.A. system when two people talk over each other.

Not the biggest or nicest airport but it gets the job done! Parking is expensive however free if under 1/2 hours. Great pickup and drop off locations and well decorated and great open atmosphere

Here's Calgary, Alberta's new gleaming international airport terminal. Pretty big change from the cramped old one. Has some annoying innovations. For example, no drinking fountains - guess they save many thousands a year on that one. So you can buy water or refill an empty bottle. Also, no paper towels anywhere. When I needed to blow my nose, I used some Burger King napkins. Also could've gone in toilet stalls to get tissue paper. Not sure whether these changes are progressive or simply being cheap. This may vary according to reviews, but I got my luggage pretty quickly. Customs entry was much better streamlined than in the past.

Very new age! Clean, cool layout, well maintained. Staff ESP at the tourist info counter were super friendly. Not as good as Vancouver airport, but good for a small town.
