Took a friend there for a birthday present. I have to say that I wasn't super stoked a few weeks back when I started thinking about it. As much of a gamer as I am, i never really thought firing a weapon was 'a thing' for me. The morning of, I was pretty excited to give it a try. With a little nervousness, we went in and everyone was super friendly. We picked out a few guns (Glock, AR15 and Shotgun) to fire a few rounds a piece, and then connected with our instructor - Nevada.

Nevada was awesome. He walked us through all the safety and expectations for the day, and then really took the time with us to make sure things were done right throughout. He loaded us up, got us ready to fire and really helped to set us up for a very successful and enjoyable experience.

It's pricey - or at least, pricier than I expected (with rentals and ammo and range time all in, it was about $280 for 2 people) - but I would also say worth every penny for the experience. I would go again to try out a couple more, and maybe even just take some additional time shooting the 9mm or the ar15 - they were most enjoyable. (Shotty was fun, but so much kick i wouldn't shoot more than 5-10 shots with it). Oddly, it felt like we were in there for so long (in a good way), but really it was only about an hour and a half all-in. Perfect for going for a bite to eat after.

Overall - 5 stars. It was really great, and something that would be fun for a birthday present, a team builder, or just getting out with a buddy to try something different. If you can get Nevada - he's a super nice guy, and a great instructor, who will make sure that you're safe and enjoy every second of the experience.

Thank you, Ray, for unforgettable memories, your time, your knowledge and lots of amazing pictures and tips! You made our day!

Sighted my 30-06 in there and the young fella sighted in his 270. Great to be able to do that in town. Rented a 1911 .45 the same night and had a blast. Very professional staff that helped out a lot. Would highly recommend

My wife and I took our non restricted gun licence courses today and had a great experience. Our instructor Norman was extremely knowledgeable and a great teacher. We are going back next week for our restricted and can’t wait! Great place

User

Mike was my Instuctor, I came here for my first time to shoot a gun was Scared at first cause it's loud but after I started shouting I was so comfortable and confident in my self thanks to mike showing me and taking his time to teach me I'll be coming for now on So Fun

Me and my friend had a great time today, shooting a handgun and AR15. Our instructor was really good, friendly and knew his stuff (unfortunately I’ve forgotten his name!). We didn’t feel rushed at all and he was kind enough to take some photos for us. If we’re visiting from the UK again we’ll definitely be back maybe to shoot something even bigger!

User

I recently visited from the UK with my wife and had a go at shooting hand guns. Jason showed me the ropes with what to do and I shot a Beretta 92f, Glock 21 and 357 S&W revolver. It was an amazing experience made all the more easier with Jason's enthusiasm, patience and experience.

If we visit Canada again we are definitely going to come back. Thank you!!!

I just wanted to say what a great experience my husband and I had at Calgary Shooting range. We took our non-restricted and restricted firearms courses on two different weekends. Norm Hamilton was brilliant. We were lucky enough to have him both weekends.

Thanks so much, we can’t wait to come use your shooting range.

Everyone is really friendly, and very knowledgeable.

User

I bought a new rifle , wanted headspace measured and I sent out emails . Gunsmith dept. Emailed me right back - only charged 1/2 hour .... and they looked over the rifle and test fired . I came to the range for the first time - first class , power target operated facility, clean , uptown ... all the way . Looks like a lot for sale too , a place I will support with my shooting and hunting $$$

User

Great place. Our range guide was very knowledgeable and made it very fun for the first time shooter we brought. Taught them everything without being preachy and allowed them to do everything with the gun.

Also offer Police, Fire, Military and EMS discount which is a bonus.

User

Great clean range! Staff are friendly and welcoming, so glad I picked this range over the others in the city!

User

Friendly staff who frequently check in to ensure you have a good time. Great selection of firearms, optics and accessories to purchase as well as a large selection of rentals. Carry oddball calibers for all your hobby/hunting needs. Solid range that is swept and cleaned at the end of the day. In addition to the staff, the owner is a cool guy with a boatload of knowledge on his merchandise. He provides a honest opinion and will let you know whether or not you are making a good choice with your purchase. If you go to Calgary Shooting Centre you will more than likely have a good time.

User

Fantastic facility, friendly and helpful staff, a great range.

User

BIG shout out to the guys at The Shooting Center.

Had my competition open gun go down on the weekend just before another tournament the weekend coming up. When I had explained what was going on and the short timeline I had to get everything back up and running these guys treated me amazingly well. It was like they were as concerned about getting me back up and running as much as I was. I can't remember when I have had such great service. Special thanks to Conner who was very knowledgeable and communicated with me through the process. Gunsmith A+ work and a great bunch of staff who I could have stayed there all day and talked guns with.

Thanks guys I look forward to bringing more business your way in the future.

Always a good day when I get to stop in at The Calgary Shooting Center. Great staff, clean range, lots of fantastic products. Lovely place to shoot and spend time!

User

Love shooting here, when I come in as im not a member they dont know me but I don't feel like they are judging me like other ranges... range is clean people are generally really nice. only thing is if the range were longer, but honestly that is mickey mouse compared to the rest of the service. If there membership was a little better priced id be a member for sure!!

User

Great experience. Knowledgable staff. Mike was helpful and patient with us. Price is a little steep for a day activity I'd love to go a lot more but at over $100 a pop it's not doable. Great place though.

When in here to look for a new gun with my boyfriend. We were treated really nice until our salesmen had to help someone else. Which was fine. We realized that it was a bit late apon his return but we still had an inquiry on another brand. It seemed at that point he just wanted to push us out the door 10 minutes before close. We felt we were being respectful waiting for his return. Should we have just asked someone else for help at that point? It just seemed really rude and that he wasn't willing to help at that point. We felt obligated to just leave..

User

The store has a pretty good selection but everytime that I am in there the staff are rarely nice and it is always understaffed. It took me an hour just to buy something small that I knew exactly what I was buying before I walked in, I haven't been in a while but I would like to see more available staff or at least a number system to ensure people aren't overlooked while people that just walked in are helped before you. On a side note I wanted to purchase an H&K pistol from them once but the salesperson pushed and absolutely insisted that I buy a glock instead, left without purchasing anything and bought it elsewhere
