Camp Sunflower Society For Disabled Children

About Camp Sunflower Society For Disabled Children

Camp Sunflower is a unique day program for children with disabilities in Calgary. The program runs for six weeks during the summer months.

Camp Sunflower Society For Disabled Children Description

Camp Sunflower caters to severely disabled children (age 6 to 19) who are unable to attend traditional community programs because of their special needs in the areas of communication, feeding, and personal care. Camp Sunflower is a unique day program which adapts to the challenging needs of dependent multi-handicapped children within and around the Calgary region.

Our camp typically runs from Monday to Thursday from 9: 00 am to 2: 30 pm over a 6 week period in the summer. Each session is one week long and offers a fun program for children to enjoy together.

The children enjoy activities such as music therapy, crafts, and play. The children are supervised by camp Counsellors and 2 LPNs are on site at all times.

We recognize that every child is unique and exceptional and we make every effort to respond to the physical, sensory, visual and auditory development of each child.
