Canada's National Firearms Association is Canada's leader in the quest for fair and practical firearm and property rights legislation. While working for practical laws across Canada, your Association provides access to legal assistance for the defense of the rights of Canadians. In the specific area of "improper storage" charges, in three out of four cases with National Firearms Association help, the Crown drops all charges before the case gets to court. 85% of cases that do go to court are won with the assistance and advice of the National Firearms Association. Frankly put, with National Firearms Association help, many times charges are simply dropped. Members of other Canadian firearms groups often call the National Firearms Association when they require legal information and assistance. And guess what? We help them!

The National Post writes "Handguns are indeed the primary weapon behind a well-publicized surge in Toronto gun violence" They get it wrong, hand guns are inert objects with no mind at all, nor do handguns degrade the morals and values of the minds of the folks who possess them.... It is the human miscreant with a criminal mind who commits violence on others that is the primary cause of violence in Toronto. This article is only speculation based on the ineffectual hand gun ban that prohibited one half of the legally held restricted handguns as of February 1, 1994. The Liberal government of the day decided that they could prohibit this many guns without serious political consequences.
There has been no change in the Canadian homicide rate as a result of this ban of legally held hand guns in 1994 (Langmann, 2012)

The NFA's good friend and colleague, Dennis Young, filed a freedom of information request with the Toronto Police Service on or about May 11, 2018. On or about August 24, 2018, Mr. Young finally received a reply; below is a link to Dennis Young's website, the FOIP request and the response from the Toronto Police Service. The last page of this document is Mr. Young's request for 13 different items. Mr. Young continually goes above and beyond for the firearms community and the NFA - we are grateful...thank you Dennis.

If the government takes your guns, can you sue for compensation?
The Common law rule - when ever property is expropriated there is the right to expect compensation
But the supreme court of Canada has said Parliament has the right to expropriate property without compensation if it has made its intention clear. If Parliament decides to confiscate your firearms away without any financial compensation, they can do it. They only have to say so clearly in the legislation that... confiscates your firearms.
