About Canadian Biomaterials Society - Alberta Student Chapter

The Canadian Biomaterials Society - Alberta Student Chapter (CBS-ASC) is a student group affiliated to the University of Alberta and operates under the direction of the parent organization, the Canadian Biomaterials Society. We recognize that the number of events that promote awareness and discussion in the fields of biomaterials and biotechnology at large are scarce at the University of Alberta. Thus, there is a need of graduate and undergraduate students to have a platform to share knowledge with their peers and take part in professional networking opportunities in the mentioned fields. Our strong presence at the university with 450 + members and well-attended events year-round substantiates our pulled forces in meeting those needs. Our mission is to promote awareness of advancements in the research and development of biomaterials and facilitate networking as well as collaborative platforms. All our events are free or charge and encourage the participation of all students and academic members interested in the fields of Biomaterials, Nanotechnology, and Biotechnology applied to human life research and technology at large.
