We would like to tell you about an amazing kid we know named Gavin.
Gavin is only nine years old. On Dec.5/18 he created a Facebook Page (Gavin Fights Cancer) and Fundraising Page to raise money for #ChildhoodCancer. It all started three years ago when he started to grow his hair long with the idea to donate it to help make wigs for kids. Since Dec.5/18, when he posted his video on his Facebook Page, he has raised over $4700 (his original goal was $500) and it has been viewe...d over 3,200 times, shared over 50 times and posted onto the Coalbanks Elementary School Facebook page.
Gavin cut his hair on December 19, 2018 and we would like to thank him for being such an inspiration to all of us!
To show your support for Gavin, please consider making a donation to his fundraising page.

It's been a busy few months at the Canadian Cancer Society (Prairies)! Today, we would like to recognize some of our incredible #CancerFighters in Southern Saskatchewan.
Mustache Mania – Nine teams took part in a Seinfeld trivia Night at The Board Game Bistro in Regina and raised $1,460.00 in support of prostate cancer research. Among the event highlights were a mustache mania special menu, mustache cookies, silent auction mystery bag and other various prizes valued over $1,0...00.00
Melville Prairie Fire – Face Off Against Breast Cancer. The girls hockey team raised funds throughout the month of October, sold 50/50 tickets and reached out to their communities to raise over $3,058.00.
ReginaPats Pink in the Rink #FundingtheFight - This year’s game raised $2,755.00. The goalie’s helmet was worn all of October and advertised on Pats social media.
The Christmas House – Terry Burant & family's 4th Annual Christmas display has begun and is expected to raise around $2,500.00. The light show has approx 20,000 lights that turn on and off and change colour in time with the music. The songs range from Christmas classics to brand new remixes and are played over speakers and broadcast on an FM radio station which reaches for a couple blocks.
Thank you so much to all our incredible #CancerFighters across the Region. We couldn't do it without you!

Smoking is responsible for an estimated 30% of all cancer deaths in Canada. Reduce your cancer risk by living smoke-free. We can help. Our program, Walk or Run to Quit, saw more than 50% of surveyed participants quit smoking and remain smoke-free for at least 6 months, compared to an average of 5% of smokers who quit on their own.
