I was in a huge hurry as per usual !! A nice, "mature" lady named Jana immediately noticed me flitting around and asked if she could help me. WELL....let me tell ya, I had 3 things I needed from all different areas of the store & she brought me to each item. I was in and out lickety split ! Sorry to the young employees who normally don't care that much to put forward that extra effort !!! Thanks Jana

Great selection on hardware, all though customer service could definitely improve. The employees are very helpful when approached, but won't make an effort if nothing is said to them.

I would give them a 0 if I could. Drove from the SW to the NW to pick up something in the flyer and the website told me they have 9. Went into the store and got help they said they saw 9 in the system but couldn't find it. Asked the cashier at the front if they would try to find it soon and if I could get a call. Got told to call in periodically to see if they have checked for it. This is an absolute joke. Take your money and go to home Depot. It's in the same plaza and they offer friendly and AMAZING customer service!!

The actual store is great. However it does lack in number of people ready to help.

The reason for writing this though....
The auto mechanic shop... absolute joke. Went in for a quick diagnosis because it's close to my house and I didn't want to go to my mechanic down in the south. They drove the car around the block and diagnosed it then charged $80 Trying to get them on the phone to ask a question or even waiting in line to pay is an unbelievably loby wait.

Don't waste your time like I did. Poor service, read the reviews and stay away.

Store Location: Beacon Hill Branch
11940 Sarcee Trail NW, Calgary, AB T3R 0A1

Store manager: Brenda (She refused to give her last name)

Reason of complaint: WRONG LABELING
We grabbed a wooden tissue holder because it looks classy and it was on sale for $9.00. By the time the cashier rang it on the till, it came out for $26.00. We told the cashier that it should be $9.00 because it was on clearance, the cashier told us to go to the isle where we got it - the manager is already waiting there to assist us. As we walk closer to that isle, Brenda (Store Manager) was arranging the items on the racks. We introduced our concerns nicely to her, but before we even finished talking she started talking over us. She said, the item was on the wrong location, therefore we should pay $26 for it. She even said that anybody could've just pretended the item was misplaced so that they could get it on a discount price. She even started acting it out (moved items around from one rack to another) - as if we didn't understand what she meant. I told her, I recommend checking the cameras so that she can prove that we are honest. We really got the item where the rack says "CLEARANCE SALE FOR $9). She suggested, she can check if the wooden tissue holder has been on sale before and she can give it to us on that price. I told her, "No, it is the customer's right to get the item on the price it was labeled to". She then started cutting me of and raised her voice and said "How could you guys understand me if you guys keep talking". So after a long dreadful battling to get it for $9, we finally gave up and just decided to not buy the tissue holder. As we were walking away, Brenda said "GO TO WALMART AND GET IT FOR CHEAPER PRICE".

We went back to the cashier who was assisting us to continue paying for the rest of the items on our cart. We mentioned our frustrations to the cashier, and the cashier asked us what is the managers name. We said her name is Brenda. She then added "Oh, Brenda would sometimes give wrong labeled items to the price it was displayed on, depending on her mood". So in our heads, Brenda is well aware of the policy but refused do the right thing for what reason? - Because we are immigrants?

I hope that this complain reaches Brenda in hopes that she changes her attitude so that other customers don’t have to experience this.

I had my car's front headlight problem and was with another mechanic He change the bulb but it still was not working. He touched the wires and it turned on so he told me it's just some loose wiring which is easily fixed and would be free. I went to Canadian tire. They charged $150 for diagnostics! then changed the bulb(which was new) for $22 and labor charges $67! wish could give lower star! they are freud and cheats!

Auto service manager is very friendly and knowledgeable as well as the staff. Mechanics also friendly and do very good work. They all take the time to explain what needs to be done and offer options.

Rude Manager and unprofessional Customer Service.
Went in to return a brand tool set, I was late by the return policy by about 1 or 2 days. Please don't respond saying I was late, there is a way to treat customers and see them as a guideline.

So I bought 2 Maximum tool sets that were on sale. I couldn't decide whether I was going to gift one or keep it. I ended up going back after 60 days and the service rep at Dalton Dr said I would have until May 17 to return it. So I kept it a bit longer, due to personal circumstances I was late and didn't realize, so now it was May 18th. I was close to this location and so I decided to return it here. I didn't have my receipt but I had the receipt number, transaction code, everything provided to me by the NW Dalton location, who's customer service is amazing!!!

First of all, the rep called down someone to inspect it. They took it out of the box and damaged the box, it fell apart. Then he opened it upside down so all of the sockets fell and he reorganized them. I'm very particular and now the labels of the sockets were all mixed up.
Then the rep goes on to tell me she can offer me a store credit since it's over 90 days, this is what upset me. I explained that they shouldn't have opened it if that's all they were going to offer, she asked me for my credit card before hand, and never mentioned anything about the credit card. I explained I would've kept it instead of the store credit, I don't want a store credit.

So she calls the manager over, Michelle or something.

Michelle came over, I was calm, I told her to give me a few moments to explain the situation, we smiled a bit, but then she decided to put on a show for the rest of the people around.

She tells me that they're doing me a favour since I'm over 90 days, the customer service rep did me a favour by looking the item up in their system. I jumped in and said I provided all of the transaction details, so it was a matter of typing it in.
She says that's still looking it up and if I keep jumping in with remarks then she won't even do this favour for me, won't even provide me with a store credit.
I tried explaining one more time that they damaged the box and she interrupted me and was simply rude. So I went around the desk to get the tool kit to show her how the box was damaged, she didn't say anything. I brought he tool set to the counter in front of her so I could show her, she rudely said "Sir, go to the other side of the counter right now, you better get on the other side of the counter"

It was just such a bad experience that I closed the tool set and walked out.
An ambulance, EMS worker was there also returning something and didn't bother saying anything.
Separate issue that our public service folks can complete their personal tasks on the job.

I went back to the Dalton Dr location, and the customer service rep returned it without an issue! She was polite and just said it's only a couple days, try to be on time next time.

Thank you Dalton Canadian Tire!!!

Someone needs to look into the Customer Service Department at this store!!!!
