Great prices, comfortable enough seats and delicious popcorn
$5 movie tickets are great! The concession though is getting more pricey - not complaining, just making an observation. For the price of a movie, popcorn and a drink = just the price of a movie ticket at Cineplex or Landmark. I just wish there were more Canyon Meadows Cinemas in Calgary (e.g. NW Calgary, mid SW Calgary, etc.).
I love canyon meadows cinema. It is very affordable and the theatre is usually clean. Great way to take the family to a movie I can't afford to take them to in the big theatres.
Besides the great price, this is a full on comfy big screen theatre. My wife would go there first on the popcorn alone. The seats are the old style with leg room, and comfort. you always have a choice of just run movies. If not being the first to see a movie does not bother you, this is the best place to catch one.
Long overdue for a renovation , especially after being to the Carnival Cinemas in Red Deer , which were given a complete face lift and are now
a great place for second run movies for $6 ( $5 prior to the face lift ) .
Anyhow, Canyon Meadows is still great value at 5 bucks for seeing
second run movies and despite living out of town , for years I have seen at least one show per week on average. Like other reviewers, I agree that the staff is nice and friendly. Also, the free refill on a large popcorn is a real treat.
Last dollar theatre anywhere close to Calgary, and the best. Nothing about it's overly amazing. The seats are meh, the floors are meh.... but damn if you wanna go see a movie and have popcorn and drinks and candy for 2 for around 35 dollars, this is the place for you!! It sure isn't the landmark cinema comfort, but can you really complain at 5 dollars a ticket? The staff here are sweet, and I think it's great they are all younger kids, clearly at their first jobs! I also saw an employee of the month in their pre-movie which I thought was a really nice thing to do for their staff. Overall, if you are looking for a cheap night out, this place is fabulous and worth a check out
Great value, the popcorn is delicious and the theatres are dated but for the price you pay its a wonderful deal.
I haven't been to this movie theater is 6 years. Yes it is older but the staff is great, no lines. The only thing I noticed was the seat don't recline but that did not take away from watching the movie. It is only$5 so it's great value for a movie you did not see when it first came out or to watch it for a second time. We will be back soon.
