Canyon Meadows is lucky to be screening this special family friendly Christmas movie December 7th! If you love HOME ALONE, you'll love CHRISTMAS BREAK-IN! "Izzy is an energetic 9-year-old. Overscheduled and running late, Izzy's parents can't pick her up on-time the last day of school before Christmas break. A blizzard complicates the matter, but not as much as a pair of bad guys who are freezing in an ice cream truck. The school's janitor is kidnapped by the intruders, and it's up to Izzy to save the day." Showtimes to follow!

canyon meadows movie theatre, its my therapy and rejuvenation experience, all for $5, sometimes I go straight after work by myself to debrief the events of the day, other times in evening with family or friends. I told my family that I would love to own that theatre and have wine and cheese movie parties for my friends and family, this is my happy safe place to go and I love it, I go at least twice a month, my most recent favourite was LEGEND starring Tom Hardy playing both Kray brothers.

User

This is a great theatre. Always clean and tidy

:-)

Price is definitely right; but that being said, the service is just as good, if not better than at the big Super-pricey theatres. I don't have the time nor the patience for the big theatres in Calgary, and I feel that my patience level is as mellow and calm when I get there as when I leave.

Sometimes by the time I realize there's a movie out that I want to see on a nice big screen, I'm too late...a lot of times tho, I'm able to catch it at Canyon Meadows Theatre :-)

And the popcorn is fantastic :-)

User

The only expensive part is the popcorn! Otherwise I really enjoy taking my kids to see the movies. The staff is really friendly and answers any questions I have, and I find them to be really helpful. My kids and I enjoy the experience

User

Seriously how can you go wrong with a $5 movie at the theatre. The concession prices are great too. We love this place

User

Love it finally something i can afford! Great prices and friendly staff :)

Long before Canyon Meadows did Autism screenings and before I followed you guys on Facebook I had the best and worst experience at a theatre with my 3 year old autistic boy. A fellow parent complained because my son could not sit still and had to stand up in his chair. She said my son was "disturbing" her children. The worker had to come and address her "problem" (FYI my son was not making any noise or running around) I explained that he was autistic and I couldn't make in sit down even if I tried without a huge melt down so unfortunately we had to leave. Story of our lives!!! The worker felt so bad she gave us all free passes to come back and apologized profusely. It's funny that a young movie theatre worker that didn't look old enough to have her own children understood my situation and had compassion and a fellow mother did not. Crazy how some people are! So amazing that you guys do these Autism Friendly Screenings so my son can enjoy the right to go to a movie and be free to be himself like any other child. Keep up the great work guys!!!!

I went last night to see King Kong last night. Had an awesome experience . Family from out of town was very impressed loved the place and prices.

User

I wanted to watch a very specific art house movie and you were the only one playing it. Did not know what to expect. Excellent choice of movies (world cinema, indie movies, etc.) and prices are unbeatable. What a little gem in an ocean of huge and impersonal cineplexes! Although a bit out of our way, you will always be our first choice. I will encourage everyone I know to support your business.

User

Great place to watch a movie. Great value and reasonable price on the food as well

User

Cheap tickets, cheap food, clean theaters. Lobby can be a little messy but what cinemas isn't. movies don't tend to play till they are available on DVD but if you're not in a rush this can be a perfect night out

User

An amazing option for a mom with three daughters. It's not affordable to go to the full price movie theaters. This is something that the girls would not be able to do otherwise. Thanks for the clean environment, the friendly staff, and a great movie for my family on a snowy day!

User

Always a great spot for discount movies. I've been going for years. Love it. Love that it's not a busy loud big place like Chinook... going to catch a movie is simple and affordable.

User

Always a great experience

User

Seats were tight fit for me I am a larger woman. Service was fantastic

User

Price is very good

Only thing I can say is advertising previews are boring and rapid repeat and. Oils. E worked on to be a little more entertaining

Otherwise it's a great place spent time on a budget

And right in our neighbourhood

User

Movie was great. Big spacious spot for me as I am handicapped and in a wheelchair. The only thing that would have had me loving this theatre was if there was a spot/cupholder for me to put my drink in. I had to balance my pop and popcorn the whole movie. But that being said we will be back

User

It was nice having somewhere to go with the family that was affordable and we all had a good time

An unexpectedly dangerous trip to the movies July 24. I emailed and called but received no response about what happened. Here is what I wrote:

Hi there. I brought my children to the afternoon screening of Peter Rabbit July 24. After the movie was over, my four year old slipped in a giant puddle of water that had formed at the front of the theatre - theatre #9. She smacked her head hard enough on the concrete that she has a bruise. I asked to speak to a manager but wound up speaking to an older gentleman who apologized and promised to get the water cleaned up.

I am concerned about the water leak and also concerned that my daughter was injured at a place that should be relatively safe. It makes me reluctant to come back which is too bad because we have generally enjoyed trips to the the theatre. Have you cleaned up the water? I am not sure how it happened, but my four year old could have broken something or gotten a concussion. Has the leak been repaired?

Can someone contact me about this?

Than you,

Jennifer Black
