About Capilano Playschool

Capilano Playschool is a community based, parent co-operative playschool for three and four year olds located in Hardisty School.

Capilano Playschool Description

The Capilano Playschool is a parent cooperative with a "learn through play" philosophy, offering children a nurturing environment and a positive introduction to the school setting.

Capilano Playschool offers parents the opportunity to become involved in their child’s early educational experience. It brings children and parents together to help create a strong sense of community.

Our non-denominational Christian Program enriches the children's learn-through-play experiences with our love for God. This program is open to everyone - so you don't need to be a Christian family to enroll in the program. All are welcome.

Our Healthy Apple Program is a Health and Wellness based program. Our goal is to start life long learners in taking care of our body and our community. We learn about physical activity, healthy eating, and taking care of our family, our community, animals and ourselves.

The Programs ARE similar in concept and execution, but do not intertwine in materials. Christian activities are readily available M-F mornings, but are away for our Health and Wellness program.

Our 2017-18 school year has come to an end- we have packed up the memories that we have made this year and all the things that we have learned and are moving onward and upwards. :)

Anytime is the perfect time to visit your neighbourhood community garden.. we love our little piece of heaven located just around the corner from us. What a wonderful time to learn about how our food grows.. and to appreciate nature’s wonders.

There are some wonderful programs being offered in a our community..the Get Active program running July 9-13 at Capilano Community Hall through the City of Edmonton still has spots available. (Ages8-12) 😊

The Edmonton Public Library is hosting an info session about the new Capliano library with a focus on the Makerspace on May 24 in the evening 6:30-8:30. A makerspace is a place where people can make things using physical materials or computers with specialized software. Some examples of things people do at the downtown makerspace include creating 3D printed objects and vinyl stickers. (see www.epl.ca/makerspace for more info) They are requesting input from the community about what kind of equipment and programming they should have in the makerspace at the new Capilano library. We love Capilano Playschool, My Daughter always looks forward to seeing Miss Asha & all her friends she is making,She honestly wishes it was all day lol

Miss Asha has great learning programs for the kids & their needs, always there to answer any questions. Also a big shout out to Marzena who is the head preschool school board, she is absolutely amazing, always on top of everything for everyone, any questions before preschool started & through out she's always got ur answer!!! So helpful for the new patents!!! We wouldn't choose any other place!!!
