Road was too high? Forgot to measure the height? Never read the clearance sign? Fell asleep? Never checked the truck route map?

This started out as good packing , however it turned into some terrible cargo securement.

Alberta Transportation - Carrier Services just forwarded an adjustment in Policy regarding their Discipline Policy I thought we should share.
NOTICE RE: Carrier Services Intervention and Discipline Policy Alberta Transportation monitors the safety and compliance of commercial bus and truck carriers. This is to reduce traffic-related deaths and serious injuries involving commercial vehicles on Alberta highways. If a carrier does not comply with safety laws, the government may... intervene with their operations to reduce the risk the carrier poses to the public. In March, 2018 Alberta Transportation is phasing in a new intervention policy. The new policy will enable the government to quickly and effectively address risks to the public on Alberta highways. A description of the new intervention process is shown below:
1 EVENT Carrier identified as being potential risk through on-road incidents, complaints, monitoring, and/or audit results 2 RISK ASSESSMENT Carrier Services considers level of risk to the public based on type of event, history of compliance, type of services provided, and administrative precedent 3 INTERVENTION Carrier required to undergo audit or investigation Carrier may be issued additional interventions (e.g. penalties, rating changes) Carrier given firm due date to be in full compliance (i.e. no extensions) 4 ENFORCEMENT Carrier who fails to comply by due date is suspended as of next business day Carrier may be re-instated with a conditional safety rating after verification audit Carrier with conditional safety rating who re-offends within 12 months will be downgraded to unsatisfactory, which will prevent them from operating regulated vehicles and reinstating their status for a period of 6 months
As part of this initiative, Alberta Transportation will continue to ensure education resources are available to carriers before they are identified in the intervention process. These resources may empower carriers to make proactive and positive improvements to their operations. For more information about the carrier intervention process, visit: www.transportation.alberta.ca/670.htm. If you have any questions regarding the new carrier intervention process, contact Carrier Services at 403-340-5033 or e-mail: compliance.info@gov.ab.ca.

it would be nice if there were a few more places on the walls and floor to secure cargo. Add some E Track and floor pockets.

This is an excellent place for any type of professional driver training. Don Morrow was my instructor for the air brake course and I found him to be very knowledgeable and funny. He is definitely one of the best instructors that I've ever dealt with. Thank you so much for giving me the skills that I need to be a better and safer driver on the roads. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to upgrade their driving skills!

I started my training having never pulled a trailer before and having only a basic understanding of how to operate the truck. Jeff was my main instructor and he was excellent. He's knowledgable and patient. He made me feel comfortable and provided constructive criticism that helped me to learn and improve. When my driver examination day came I felt prepared and confident. I definitely recommend Capilano to anyone considering driver training.

I came to Capilano driving school never driven a manual transmission before. Scott and Jeff were excellent teachers. They were very patient and made learning fun. All the staff made me feel comfortable. And I passed my road test on the first attempt. I would recommend Capilano if you are wanting to learn the right way to drive

User

Good instructors there for training, what I liked the most was that they let you learn at our pace and don't rush you, great at explaining situations. Highly recommended

User

Gary is a great teacher and I am glad I was able to take my class three with him.

User

Absolute great place to get your Class 1 or whichever class you choose! Great school and great Instructors!!!!

I attended my 1st course ever with you guys on Air Brakes Yesterday. I passed but it wasn't easy. It really tests people and their own potentials. I suggest to keep the cheat sheet for the pre trips and take them with you to your jobsite in the future until you remember it fully 100% and even then don't lose them. Scott Woodley was a great Instructor and he really knows his stuff. Even gave us some moral advice when it comes to the retarder brakes bylaws. I hope he knows I appreciate him sharing his knowledge and experiences with us. I may have looked rather annoyed because I was there on 3 hours sleep and had a migraine and just wanted to get the hell out of there. LOL. But the training was great I learned a lot! But because this is the longest course and is A LOT for 1 to take in you may or may not want to break it up in to a 2 day course? I'm not sure. Just a thought because I don't know how you guys Operate like everyone who Works for CTDTI does. But think about and do what's best for the Company and Success Rate. But your Reputation is as Advertised Regardless and that's you guys are the Best. After Registering Through John Sturgess I went home and Told my better half of how straight forward, realistic, honest and simply didn't sugar coat anything and how strict he was when it came to the Students Quality of time there and what he is willing to do for us. Just hearing it through me 2nd hand we both had nothing but Pure Respect for the way this company is operating. Definitely keep doing what you're doing and DEFINITELY keep the Staff and look after them. I honestly advise anybody to get their Class 1 training though Capilano Trckers Training. They may save your life and others who are going to be on that road with you. Thanks Guys. I'll see you tomorrow for HOS Training.

I enjoyed my course, but the lady who handles course's shouldn't be in this position. She is very distracted with her phone, always seems to be on it and she doesn't have a great demeanor and has a abrasive attitude. Also some of the course instructions went against evaluators exam, very confusing. Instructor seemed not well knowledge in certain question's I ask. But most staff where very friendly and willing to help out.
