About Cheney'S Zen Karate & Kickboxing
All classes are taught by professional certified instructors. We offer children's Karate, adult Karate, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, self defense and personalized fighter specific training. We have been serving our community for over 30 Years.
Cheney'S Zen Karate & Kickboxing Description
ZEN KARATE DO
A great way to get in shape as well as a devastating form of self defense. Traditional and modern Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Aiki Jitsu, and Jiu Jitsu techniques combine with advanced Olympic training methods to promote self confidence, coordination and weight control. This class offers tournament oriented training as well as realistic street defense techniques.
KICKBOXING AND MUAY THAI
Combining traditional Muay Thai, Martial Arts and boxing techniques along with an intense cardiovascular workout make this class the ultimate in conditioning and challenge. Cheney Karate Studios is the only school in the area certified to teach kickboxing by the World Kickboxing Association and the Canadian Muay Thai Council. Become a fighter or just get in fighting shape.
FIGHTER TRAINING
This training will currently only be available for students enrolled in one of our programs looking to take their training to the next level. Enrollment will start in October. We will consider fighters from other studios that will be entering competition within the year. Please contact us for more information.

So with our upcoming 40th annual Western Canadian Karate Championship coming up in about 3 weeks, I would like to put in a call to all of my current and past black belts or anyone who knows any of my current or past black belts? Our event will take place on May 26th at Hunting Hills High School. One of my goals for this occasion is to try to get a picture with as many of my currently training and past black belts as possible. I realize that getting all 115 people here at once is highly unlikely, but if any of my friends out there are in touch with others that have not trained in a long time, please share this and lets see what we can come up with for this special occasion. All of you have a special place in my heart and it would mean so much to me to see you all again. Oss!

What a spectacular weekend of training! This weekend our school had the great honor of hosting a seminar by world renowned Grand Master Trevor Higgs. Master Higgs has been training since 1965 and is a living legend in Canadian martial arts. Thank you Sir for your knowledge and we look forward to next time!
