I want express my gratitude to this center and its staff for rushing out my son’s visa on time. My son’s visa was due to be picked on Monday Oct 16th, but due to an emergency situation, we wanted his visa by Friday Oct 13th, so I went to the center at noon on Friday, explain the reason and my wish to get the visa on the same day. Without hesitation, the lady at the front desk went to talk to the visa officers and came back with positive answer. So I could pick up the visa within 2 hours. I noticed that they had to sign a few documents because of this. I am sorry for the trouble I created for them and thankful for their understanding and sympathy. J.G., Edmonton

Phone call answering was very impatient and rude. Asking questions about visa application but was told: do you listen well and can you understand? No customer service etiquette at all. Worst customer service experience ever.

We had applied for our Chinese visas using postal service through this Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Calgary. Although we were initially worried about sending all of our important documents away by mail, in the end there was no need to be so worried (as long as you have filled out their application forms and sent in all the documents that they have asked for on their website).
We sent everything through Canada Post using Xpresspost (you can track your package using the tracking numbers through the Canada Post website or by using their app.) As soon as the centre had received our application they had called me right away to notify me of some missing items. I would send the missing documents through Xpresspost or in some instances they needed me to write a note and had asked me to email them a copy. The expected time to receive our visas was what was indicated on their website (10 days for postal service). It was just as what I expected from them. I would suggest that if you do have any questions then you should email them. I suspect calling them (unless you can speak Mandarin) may be tricky. *Please keep in mind that our application was for a tourist visa and so it may be more straightforward than any of the other categories.*

It didn't open on time. Many people waited about 30mins to get in. Sad.

I think the agents are doing their best to help the customers, if you read the instructions on the website prior to coming in, make appointment , come early for your appointment , I don't think there will be any time wasted. I have to say to parking is such a hassle though.

I find it very easy to work with the office. I made a phone call and found out the documents needed for the visa and it didn't take long to review the document with the officer. The only thing I would suggest to improve is that the Consulate location used to accept visa application and I went there. I hope there is a clear sign to tell people that the Consulate location on 6th Ave. SW doesn't accept visa application and Visa Application Center is at a different location on 8th Ave. SW. I stayed at Consulate location for more than 10 minutes before I figured it out.

Rachel in New Westminster, BC was fantastic to work with and she was extremely efficient. We had our passports back within a week. I would highly recommend this company.

I have used the visa service for over 5 years. It is hassle free, professional and friendly. I recommend their service any day.
