About Chiniki Cultural Centre

Uncover a truly authentic experience celebrating food, art, music, culture and storytelling of the Chiniki First Nation.

Chiniki Cultural Centre Description

Our vision is to create employment and economic activity to benefit the Chiniki First Nation, while offering visitors the opportunity to learn about the rich Chiniki culture and creating awareness and understanding.

At the Chiniki Cultural Centre, visitors are able to view cultural exhibitions and displays, browse through our gallery shop, and take part in experiential workshops and guided tours with Chiniki nation members.

We also offer an authentic, fine dining experience at Stones Restaurant. Using indigenous recipes passed down from generation to generation, our menu items are created from locally grown and seasonally sourced ingredients.

Wonderful lunch today! The service was absolutely excellent. We had the delicious bison burger and (I HIGHLY recommend) the Blueberry bannock loaf served with lemon custard for desert! So yummy!

User

What an amazing place! After a great meal, with top notch service, I took a tour of the Cultural Centre. It's well laid out, informative, and tells the history of the Chiniki Nation through an Indigenous lens. While the story telling is respectful, it pulls no punches, and is far from the whitewashed history so many of us know.

Well worth the 40 minute drive from Calgary, and well worth the $10 adult admission!

Loved learning more about our neighbours and their history! Not only that, but got to speak with one of the servers, and she was wonderful, sharing her stories and thoughts on First Nation issues. We will definitely be back to do some of the "Explorations" with the Elders in order to learn more!

I've been coming to Chiniki for bannock tacos since I was a child and was pleasantly surprised by the new cultural center and tee pees. I brought my own children this time and after we ordered bison burgers and elk tacos from the menu, we were told that we had 20 minutes to explore the indoor and outdoor exhibits. The kids had been in the car all day so this was a welcome invitation and we enjoyed telling the children about the history and culture of the Chiniki people and the Morley reserve. Very well done, food was perfect and served hot and right at 20 minutes and we would like to return for some of the cultural events in the future. Well done and thank you for preserving this important heritage.

User

Food is awesome, Then do a tour of our ancestors lives. Our leaders back then had a lot of respect for our eagle feather, and Wore the headdress with respect nd honour....

User

Fantastic cultural centre. Not to be missed. Restaurant and museum a must.!

User

Awesome lunch today! While the 'world's best' bison burger was indeed fantastic, the homemade saskatoon berry lemonade soda and blueberry bannock with lemon curd were simply outstanding! The best feature--the truly authentic, humble, extremely well trained service team.

User

A beautiful building, excellent service and delicious and unique (to us) food. A total experience. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for upcoming events and definitely plan to come back for brunch.

Bonne continuation
