Classical Revolution Calgary Description
Classical Revolution Calgary is live chamber music in the fun, informal setting of Café Koi in downtown Calgary. On the first Monday of each month, a collective of passionate musicians, both professionals and part-timers, unite for a hosted jam session, dispense with the fussy trappings and tails, and bring chamber music to the people.
It's a perfect evening for those new to classical music, for anyone ready to hear it in a new light, and for experienced classical musicians eager to reach an adventurous, engaged audience.
Ready to join the Revolution? Come to Café Koi around 8 pm, bring your instrument and any music you'd like to read (we have a piano! ), or just relax and have a drink and a bite to eat -- we're here to make chamber music, not war!
Free admission, suggested donations of $5-20 gratefully accepted to support musicians!

Hi everyone! Classical Revolution Calgary is pleased to announce our first monthly event of the year!
We'll be doing a fully open-mic style event to kick things off for 2019, if you'd like to play something please DM us with details or comment on this post and we'll get back to you!

Hey guys - The next CR will be Oct 16. Stay tuned for the event page closer to the date. The feature will be opera singer Courtney Murias.
"Classical Sessions" will feature opera singer Amanda Hillestad among other fab locals. The theme is "Soul Train."
It'll be my last Classical Rev for now. Matt Heller and Sean Perrin will carry on. It's been a special, uplifting minute (er, five years) with you all!

Ring in the New Year with us and Timepoint Ensemble, our featured guest artists for our final Monday night event at Cafe Koi! We're titling this event New Chapters, since we'll be highlighting new works, as we prepare to take Classical Rev Calgary in a direction.
Cafe Koi has been the host since our founding in March 2012. We're looking forward to breaking bread and raising a glass to this long-time partnership, and also hear from audience members as we plan for our post-Koi future!
Suggested donations of $10 go directly to our very appreciative cast of local, Calgary musicians! Note that music starts at 7pm (Koi serves dinner starting at 5pm), and all ages are welcome.
We usher in the holidays with a jazzy trio of pianist Claire Butler, bassist Matt Heller, and percussionist Reuben Grendus! They'll perform music from Claude Bolling and Charlie Brown's Christmas special. Claire and Matt will also perform duo works by Franck, Robert Fuchs, and Giovanni Bottesini.
Please note the new earlier start time of 7pm! Cafe Koi is adjusting their mid-week line-up to get the music started sooner. We hope to see you there!
