Classroom Agriculture Program

About Classroom Agriculture Program

CAP highlights the vast opportunities in agriculture and the people, producers and industries that drive this trade. CAP is presented to grade four students across Alberta at no charge.

Classroom Agriculture Program Description

The Classroom Agriculture Program (CAP) has been around for 30 years now. We annually talk to about 20, 000 grade 4 students across the province of Alberta. One of the real strengths of CAP is the diversity of our volunteers. One class may have someone from the county come in, the next class might have a veterinarian or a rancher, or a bee keeper. The volunteers are encouraged to tell their own story (what they do or have done in agriculture). At the end of the day, we want students to have a better understanding of where their food comes from and why agriculture is important.
