Clearwater County social media pages are for communication of County information and engagement with the community.

County social media activity occurs during regular business hours (8: 00 am ŌĆō 4: 30 pm, Monday to Friday), and responses to public comments should be expected within two business days, where practicable.

Direct messages and posts are not considered official correspondence. Official correspondence means communications written, faxed or emailed to Clearwater County that includes the residentŌĆÖs proper name and address. Residents should contact Clearwater County by email or in writing to submit:
ŌĆó A formal customer service request, comment or enquiry.
ŌĆó A response to an item published for public comment.

All comments will be regularly moderated and reviewed by Clearwater County staff. Clearwater County will not tolerate or respond to comments that are offensive to an individual or an organization, rude in tone, or abusive as determined by Clearwater County. Users of the Facebook page agree that they shall not post any content that meets the following conditions, and Clearwater County reserves the right to, without notice, edit, remove, or refuse content that meets any of the following conditions:
ŌĆó in violation of any laws or regulations such as the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Alberta Human Rights Act and any other applicable codes of conduct;
ŌĆó racist, hateful, sexist, homophobic, slanderous, insulting, life-threatening or otherwise offensive messages
ŌĆó defamatory, serious, unproven or inaccurate accusations against individuals or organizations
ŌĆó aggressive, abusive, coarse, violent, obscene, or pornographic content
ŌĆó content which may offend the privacy, personal, property or other rights of any individuals or organizations
ŌĆó content which infringes the policies of Facebook
ŌĆó hyperlinks to website or other content that meet the above conditions
ŌĆó content where the sender is not the author
ŌĆó content for advertising or other commercial purposes
ŌĆó announcements from labour or political organizations
ŌĆó content written in a language other than English
ŌĆó unintelligible or irrelevant and off-topic messages, and
ŌĆó any other content that Clearwater County feels will not add to the normal flow of debate.

Users also shall agree that they shall not use the Facebook page in such a way as to offend the privacy, personal, property or other rights of any individuals or organizations. Users also agree not to use the site in such a way as to breach the laws of jurisdiction in which users currently reside.

Users participate at their own risk, taking personal responsibility for comments, username and any information provided.

If Clearwater County staff find that a comment or post contravenes any of the guidelines listed above, staff will make a copy of the comment for the record and delete the post from the CountyŌĆÖs Facebook page and the offending user shall be blocked from the CountyŌĆÖs Facebook page.
