Crews were not able to find a source of any odours. We have been in contact with Alberta Energy Regulators to work with all the local energy providers to assist. There is no emergency situation to be concerned with at this time an all fire crews have been released.

Crews are investigating an “outside odour” west of Caroline.

Ladies and Gentlemen please help us welcome home our final BC Deployment Crew 4, AC David Hadley, FF Shauny Durant, FF Jordan Langhorn, Sylvan Lake FF Daniel Powell, and Lacombe FF Trevor Willton. This marks the end of our BC Deployment, as the crew has all our equipment with them. Over the past 4 weeks Clearwater Regional Fire Rescue Crews have been challenged, tested, and excelled through all the obstacles. The crews all have shown not only the strength in our Regional s...ervice but in our Mutual Aid area as well. We would like to thank all of the employers who so graciously approved time off, so members could deploy, as well to all of our membership who was unable to deploy but stepped up to keep our service strong. Thank you too our Mutual Aid partners, Sylvan Lake Fire Department and Lacombe Fire Department for supporting this deployment with members as well as support. Thank you too our Councils, Administration, and the Alberta Office of the Fire Commissioner for allowing this opportunity to be possible. As Fire Chief, all of our crews whether deployed or hear at home, have all made me proud. Your dedication, and valor was second to none. You rose to the challenger and made not only our Region proud but showcased the skills Province of Alberta. Job Amazingly Well Done – Welcome Home.

Firefighters’ National Memorial Day Sunday September 9, 2018 As a tribute to the firefighters who risk their lives to keep Canadians safe, the Canadian government proclaimed the second Sunday in September of each year as Firefighters’ National Memorial Day in memory of firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty. The Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation is reminding all fire service organizations that on Sunday September 9, 2018 all flags should be half-masted at all ...fire service stations in Canada to coincide with Canadian flags half-masted on all federal buildings and establishments. The Government of Canada recognizes the dangers firefighters often face when carrying out their duties, and the ultimate sacrifice of firefighters who have given their lives in the line of duty. Firefighters’ National Memorial Day commemorates their courage, their selflessness, and their unwavering commitment to serving our communities. The Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation will be conducting the annual memorial ceremony at the site of the Canadian Firefighters Memorial, in Ottawa, at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday September 9. www.cfff.ca for more info.
