Reviews
Some large quantities of stuff hitting the bin this week.
It's a real shame that just about every list of creations leaves out Ted Kord. But 90 years is a full life. With a huge legacy left behind.
A small sampling of what's hitting the bins this week.
Lots of nice new stuff in the store lately. (Sorry for the glare.)
Some beautiful books in the last little bit.
It's Free Comic Book Day Tomorrow, gather the family kidnap some kids... Okay, Don't kidnap some kids. But find a niece/nephew, son/daughter, come out and love some comics!
All available Free Comic Book Day titles are listed on https://www.freecomicbookday.com/
Spoiler Alert:
#BatmanKillsBabies.
Action Comics #1000 is here!! Comic King is stocked to the gills. As well, this nifty poster featuring the covers to all 1000 issues is available as well for 12$.
Don't miss your chance at this MAJOR comic milestone.
Some new piles of goodies hit the bins today.
Bought a few collections this week. Just some highlights of what hit the bins and wall today.
Beautiful old graphic novels collecting Gold Key Star Trek. 15$ each. In the Golden/Silver/Bronze Bins Star Trek section.
Awesome Weapon H Intro set assembled today. Only the Prelude noted issue is second print. Definitely high grade copies. Pricing checked against ebay recent completed sales. Set price is very comparible to other sets with fewer issues and the added perk of no crazy shipping charges! Get it while you can.
Weapon H #1 hits shelves March 21st.
Bunch of back issues into the bins today!
Alrighty! Last weeks shipment arrived at about noon today. It's kind of piece-meal and incomplete but the bulk of stuff is here and processed. Actual New this week is on the shelf as usual as well.
We're hoping to have some normalcy and please don't hesitate to let us know if you're missing anything.
{We have LOTS of Metal #5 in stock. You know, in case you need it ;) }
Diamond's Customer Service Rep's Supervisor, has messages to inform us that a rush job is being attempted to get this week's product on the truck for next week delivery. Our quote is tentatively for Thursday the 8th if I'm understanding the email correctly. (which seems odd because next weeks shipment should be here in time for Wednesday, but despite the confusing information at least it's hopeful information)
So fingers crossed and I'll provide more update when possible.
As it stands at this moment, with only the vaguest of responses from Diamond so far. We are optimistically expecting this weeks releases with our shipment in two weeks. (Not next Wednesday, but the Wednesday following). Treating everything as if they were a shortage.
A supervisor of the customer service department at Diamond is hoping to let us know our options and expectations some time tomorrow.
It's greatly distressing that I have to update like this again, due to internal problems at Diamond this week, we have no comics on the shelf tomorrow. Maybe not this week at all.
We are still awaiting answers from Diamond. And will update as soon as we know anything.
In light of this, we will be starting our February pink sticker sale earlier than intended. Pink price stickers were phased out years ago, so from tomorrow til February 15th, we're going to run 50% off any pink price tags in the store.

This store is the real deal. Shopped here all the time when I lived in Edmonton and every time i go back to visit it's like coming home. Awesome selection of new and old comics and a great staff. THE store to shop at in Edmonton.
This place is awesome. Anything I need they get or got. The guys there treat you good. If I had a millions of dollars I'd be there every week.
This is my favourite comic store by a longshot. The staff has always been helpful and friendly. I've become friends with a few of the staff members over the years, and they've continued to give me great recommendations and lots of laughs.
Love the staff and are super helpful. I went from a casual reader to hardcore comic book nerd thanks to the wonderful staff who genuinely love the books they sell and will give you there honest opinions.
Love that I'm able to look around and that I always find something new to read.
James makes this place worthwhile.
If you're looking for a variety of newer and back issues look no further than Comic King. They have a great variety of books from the 50s to today. The salespeople are friendly and knowledgeable. I've been a long time customer and will always be one. Have fun diving through those bins!
I've never been, but I know James knows his shit and would love to visit the shop.
I usually come here once a week (at least) on Wednesdays and I never regret my visit. The guys behind the till are so knowledgable, kind, and helpful, no matter what kind of question you have! I always feel like I can just have a normal conversation with the staff without being pressured to buy anything. They carry a large selection of comics, graphic novels, statues, and other things at decent prices to satisfy your inner geek. Love this store!
Good selection- decent prices, always friendly- definitely worth a drop in every time in the area.
Excellent staff and the best selection to choose from. Always a fun time.
Love to visit this place!
Comic King is always a great destination. The staff are usually beyond informed, and approachable and always have a great reading recommendation for you.
They always have great selection of new released titles, including some of the harder to find variant covers.
They have the best graphic novel selection in the city as well as specialty bins containing 2$ back issues, 10$ trade paperbacks and 15$ hardcovers.
10/10

Best place to buy comics. Guys are awesome.
Been a loyal customer since Jr. High
Been a while since I wrote a review, time for an update I believe.
Ive been shopping at ‘Comic King’ for many years now. Originally I started reading, and collecting through the WEM location, but when Comic King moved.. I moved with it, and the reason for that would be the ‘man who knows all’ James Risk. Honestly without him working there, I would no longer shop there due to the length of time it takes me to get there , that is how integral I feel he is to my experience as a comic reader, and customer . There wouldn’t be a reason to drive from the Windermere (South) area all the way to the North End of town, there are many shops on the west side/south side I could have gone to, but the sole reason I am still a ‘file guy’ there would be him, and his knowledge. He is COMIC KING. He has become a good friend over the years through this store, and comics in general. So, if your in need of anything I recommend going there Sunday to Friday .. as I’ve been told way to many times, James doesn’t work on Saturdays !!
Store has a great selection!!
If you like to get asked every 5 minutes if you need any help, then this is the place for you...
