Ever notice the coach of a rowing team is the only one facing the finishing line? The team has their back to the destination with the coxswain focused on the individual members, the boundaries and the goal. The coach is calling out orders not only to inspire, but also to steadily nudge the team for slight course corrections.

Picture this – you and your team are lost in a forest. Dismayed members shout options or even drastic route alterations. Fear grips and sways some members. Conversely, the team leader is looking up and not forward. If you were lost in that forest, the oddly appreciable fact is you are likely a mere 100 feet from resolution. The intuitive leader would know to climb the tallest tree and ascertain the route.

Or imagine this, you are sinking in the ocean. Because of panic the alarming perceivable truth that might NOT cross your mind is "I am mere inches from survival! If I could keep my head above water a few inches I survive. "

Each of these scenarios highlights the need for slight course corrections. The truth is, we all have our heads buried deep in life and rarely see the "nudge" necessary.

We all have a natural gift or talent. One special gift we can call our own. For me, this special gift is inspiring others, helping them find their way and make connections and course corrections that count. Inherently, there must be an understanding about many industries and skills. The inference is not one must be talented at all of these industries but it does imply an understanding of systems.

Throughout my story I have felt the most joy from this gift. From my interminable desire for life-long learning and completing a recent Masters Degree in Leadership to my ongoing commitment to volunteer work, to my various experiences in assisting others to find their potential-I am at home inspiring greatness. http://www. conationconsultingltd. ca
