About Conklin Resource Development Advisory Committee

Conklin is a community in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo ("RMWB"). The community is primarily Métis people who can trace their history to the late nineteenth century. The community is recognized as a "Métis Harvesting Community" in the Government of Alberta Métis Harvesting Policy and continues to actively promote their unique Métis culture through organizations such as the Conklin Métis Local 193 ("CML #193") and the Conklin Community Association ("CCA"). CRDAC, a Society under the Societies Act, is a not-for-profit organization consisting of an appointed Board of Directors from the CCA and CML #193. The CRDAC Board is recognized as a policy governing board. The CRDAC is the voice of the Conklin community and a one-window interface for Government and Industry to engage with the community of Conklin on social, environmental, cultural, and economic interests.
