How can Cremona school best prepare your child for “life after” our school? Ideas? Suggestions? Each month I will ask this question to community members, employers, parents, and to past and present students and share their answers along with what we offer in our school!
... Elementary school parent: She hopes that we teach her children about finances, for example, how does a credit card work? What is a mortgage?
Response: For many years, the “Money Matters” group has talked with our grade 9-11 students on anything from debt and credit to budgeting.
Response from Ms. Ward, Gr 10 CAREER AND LIFE MANAGEMENT Teacher: We started our Finances Unit with “how to make a budget” then “how to find a good apartment” then “mortgages.” For example, what is a fixed rate” or “you need credit” to get a mortgage? We look at the importance of paying bills on time, how to get a credit card and the associated risks. I pointed out the dangers with “payday loans” and the “rent to own” idea. In the past, I invited a guest speaker from the bank.

Good morning everyone,
We would like to inform you that our school concession will be temporarily closed from Jan 22-Feb 24. It will be up and running again on Feb 25, which is after our winter break. Please know that we will be having Subway Day on Feb 6 and Pizza Day on Feb 14, to hopefully give you a break from making lunches.
