When I first moved to Edmonton I was looking to take up dance but did not know where to start. A friend told me about the Codettes program through Dance Code and I decided to check it out. I immediately fell in love. Never have I so quickly felt comfortable with a group of strangers in my life. 10/10 would recommend the studio to anyone looking to get into dance or pick it back up.

User

Started at Dance code last year as a brand new dancer and FELL IN LOVE with Dance code. My first class was heels and now I try a whole bunch of their classes (hip hop, jazz etc). The teachers are so friendly, and talented. Plus all the dancers (men and woman) are very welcoming.

User

Sarah helped my husband and I choreograph a dance for our wedding. She did a fantastic job, made my wedding that much more special, and gave me the priceless gift of me learning how to dance with my man

User

Love the place! The teachers are phenomenal and so welcoming. It doesn't matter your age or your ability (from beginner to advance) as they welcome everyone which I love. Been going to them since they opened and so excited they're expanding to Calgary!! :)

User

Love having a community that's made up of adult dancers and not just teenagers! Great atmosphere, no one is competitive or catty and it's a fun place to be. I take photos for the studio and shoots are always lively and chaotic in the best way.

User

I’ve been going to classes at Dance Code for about 6 months and absolutely LOVE it. The teachers are fun, approachable, and consistently creative with their choreography. The studio is characterized by a friendly and accepting vibe, and there are lots of opportunities for growth:) I recommend this studio to everyone I know who loves to dance

User

I’ve been dancing at Dance Code for a few months now and I’ve been happier than ever. The teachers there have brought back my love for dance. With such a variety of classes available at all levels there really is something for everyone. All the students and teachers are so welcoming and fun my weeks are now incomplete if I don’t go to a handful of classes !

User

I've never been able to commit to a gym membership because I knew I would never stick with it, but I quickly got myself a membership to Dance Code Studio because all their classes are so fun and addicting! I started off with their boom classes which are fun (but very challenging) workout classes and lost 2" off my thighs in just two months! Then I began exploring their dance classes and even though I have zero dance experience, they cater to every level and make it very enjoyable. My dance abilities have improved which provided me with more confidence and allows me to participate in more difficult dance classes! All their teachers are highly knowledgeable, easy to approach, and extremely nice. They have a huge variety of different classes so I definitely recommend to try them out!

User

I love going to Dance Code, it’s my second home and family. I started at Dance Code couple years ago with Burlesque Boom and fell in love instantly, after a few months I inquired about becoming an instructor and have now been teaching for just over a year and a half and love it! The teachers here are fantastic and knowledgeable, I love attending Joshua’s ballet classes, as well as Sarah and Enzo’s pumps/heels classes.

User

I found Dance Code through IG - I did Heels with Sky for the first time tonight (um, free, what? Hello!) and loved it. This place is so happy and welcoming, and inclusive to queers, differently abled, and people of all ages. I love that they are getting on the MindBody App too! I will definitely be coming back for the $20 drop in.

User

I absolutely loved Dance Code. It was like a home away from home. Everyone was so accepting and there to truly support each other. I live in Calgary and I have driven to Edmonton just to take special classes at dance code. If you live in Edmonton I highly recommend their classes!

User

Dancecode has kept my love for dance possible! Sarah has reignited the fire and desire in me to keep dancing! Her heels classes are the bomb! Workout classes are killer! And her intensives are inspiring! 10/10 would recommend for any beginner to advance dancer or workout junky!!

User

Dance code studio is such a fun and an energetic community! As a dance teacher of dance code, it is truly motivating to share my perspective in dancing and to create challenging choreographies every week that will help my students to grow as a dancer. Looking forward to meet amazing people at dance code!

User

Dance Code was suggested to me by a friend. I had the opportunity to take many different classes and was impressed by the kindness and patience of most instructors. Where concerns arose, I was able to speak to the instructor/manager/owner about them and I felt heard and respected. I am an older person and approached dancing w/trepidation; never did I feel judged because of my age or size. Dancing at Dance Code – in its many iterations – has been a wonderfully liberating experience. Further, I requested one-on-one lessons from Sarah Torkoly – the owner - and was amazed at her gentleness and willingness to adapt to my abilities. It was a much appreciated cooperative effort I sincerely hope to repeat. Go and have fun!

User

Dance Code is a beautiful space with amazingly talented teachers to work with you. It has a wonderful and welcoming dance community that fosters a safe and healthy environment to learn and grow. Cannot say enough wonderful things about this studio!

User

Anyone who has heard me talk about dance, knows that my second home is at Dance Code Studio. A former studio kid, I stopped dancing as I got older & as my body changed - being a bigger girl, I was often told I shouldn't be dancing at all. Fast forward a couple of decades to where I was looking for something different after nothing was inspiring exercise wise. I first tried out a Burlesque Boom class & then it all just kept moving forward! Now, I dance up to 10 hours a week - tap, jazz, ballet, heels, hip hop, street jazz, contemporary, basically whatever I can get my hands on. The environment Sarah has created is one of true inclusion - the energy is electric, the instructors are top notch, the front desk full of smiles, the community is one of support, encouragement & love of dance. At Dance Code Studio, everyone there believes that every BODY can dance. I often joke with Sarah, tell her that the studio is a unicorn because it's so rare. I dance at Dance Code Studio not only because I love dance, but because I love the people I get to dance with!! <3

User

After being out of practice for a few years, Dance Code was the perfect place to find a studio to call home and get back into dancing. With such a wide range of adult drop-in classes, every week brings something new and exciting from the crew of passionate teachers. I discovered heels and pumps classes and never looked back!

User

A one of a kind place for “grown-ups” who want to dance. If you want to grow in ability and confidence, check it out!

User

The only good thing that came from this studio was meeting Jessie-Lynn Mounsef. Sarah never payed me back after entering me in a competition too late. Very unprofessional as well, I’d have a private and she would double book and I’d end up dancing in the hallway, or at the gym in the same building.

I absolutely loved Dance Code. It was like a home away from home. Everyone was so accepting and there to truly support each other. I live in Calgary and I have driven to Edmonton just to take special classes at dance code. If you live in Edmonton I highly recommend their classes!

Dancecode has kept my love for dance possible! Sarah has reignited the fire and desire in me to keep dancing! Her heels classes are the bomb! Workout classes are killer! And her intensives are inspiring! 10/10 would recommend for any beginner to advance dancer or workout junky!!

Dance code studio is such a fun and an energetic community! As a dance teacher of dance code, it is truly motivating to share my perspective in dancing and to create challenging choreographies every week that will help my students to grow as a dancer. Looking forward to meet amazing people at dance code!

After being out of practice for a few years, Dance Code was the perfect place to find a studio to call home and get back into dancing. With such a wide range of adult drop-in classes, every week brings something new and exciting from the crew of passionate teachers. I discovered heels and pumps classes and never looked back!

A one of a kind place for “grown-ups” who want to dance. If you want to grow in ability and confidence, check it out!

The only good thing that came from this studio was meeting Jessie-Lynn Mounsef. Sarah never payed me back after entering me in a competition too late. Very unprofessional as well, I’d have a private and she would double book and I’d end up dancing in the hallway, or at the gym in the same building.
