Daraja Foundation

​Daraja’s mission is to work globally to build connections, support education and improve health and nutrition.

Daraja means bridge in Swahili. We build bridges between the people of Zanzibar and caring citizens of the world.

We aim to increase accessibility for volunteers to travel abroad by providing support and resources for travel arrangements, accommodation and placement in the local hospital or orphanage. We also aim to create opportunities for individuals to donate and contribute to the purchase of medical and educational supplies for the local hospital, orphanage and families in small communities.

The Daraja Foundation is a community where people share their experiences, build relationships and give and receive support. We will always operate with honesty, integrity and transparency. We will be online, prepared to support volunteers through their travels and engaged in keeping the Daraja Community informed on how their generosity makes a difference in the lives of others. Daraja's goal is to create multiple ways for people to support small communities in Zanzibar, such that they can find one that fits them.
