Deer Park United Church is excited to announce 2 flu shot clinics, courtesy of Medicine Shoppe #389 Deer Valley!
Thursday, October 18 from 6:00-8:00pm (convenient for those attending Spinz Around, picking up Calgary Food Bank hampers, picking up Good Food Boxes, attending choir practice....)
Sunday, October 21 from 11:30-2:30pm (immediately after our 10:00 church service)

Deer Park United Church's youth ministry is looking for a few great volunteers to help boost its program and support its youth. The commitments range from providing a meal once a season to helping offer a ride once a month. Check out the signup for more information!

On October 14, Deer Park United and St. Andrew's Regional Ministries/St. Andrew's Centre will explore "Celebrating Grace" at our 10:00am service. All are welcome to join-we look forward to seeing you there!

On November 4, we will be having Deer Park United and St. Andrew's Regional Ministries/St. Andrew's Centre's 5th Anniversary Celebration! This commemorates five years of shared worship and ministries.

Congratulations to Donna Strickland of the University of Waterloo in Ontario who is one of the winners of the Nobel Prize in Physics. She is a member of Westminster United Church in Waterloo.
From @nobelprize: "Strickland is the first female Nobel laureate to be named in three years and is only the third woman winning in physics: Marie Curie earned the award in 1903 and Maria Goeppert Mayer in 1963."
"'Obviously we need to celebrate women physicists, because we're out there. ...And hopefully in time it'll start to move forward at a faster rate, maybe,' Strickland said in a phone call with the academy after the prize announcement."
