Deer Valley Dental Care

I wish I could give them a better review, as I have been going to this dentist since I was a young child. But I honestly can say, I have had bad customer service experiences on a regular basis from this clinic. From rude receptionists, being charged too much, disorganized Administration and little or no communication when it comes to my dental needs. I am constantly trying to give this dental office another chance, hoping their service will improve, but yet again they fall short.

I'm not asking for perfection, but I would at least appreciate it if they did something more than saying "sorry". I'm sure I'm marked as a "difficult customer" due to the voicing of my opinion. And this is not what I want to do or be, but I can honestly say that upon my completion of Invisalign, I will need to look for another dentist.

Our family has been customer of Deer Valley Dental for last 10 years.
My son 8 year old, recently had two teeth extracted (not sure that was the right thing as well). Then an estimate was sent to insurance for space maintainer. Now before we even book an appointment a charge of $120 was applied to us for this space maintainer without our consent. We never agreed to this charge. I am not sure what to do. We talked to staff to book an appointment but obviously they won't help either with appointment or anything. We're thinking to send the details to Alberta Health but not very hopeful. These dental firms are very powerful, their owners are very rich, have deep contacts at Dental Association/Alberta Health and there is no one to side with poor patients. I feel betrayed and helpless.

The care and the professionalism that received a deervalley dental cannot be compared. I have been so happy with how well they have treated me and my children.

After spending an hour at another clinic, where they caused undue stress and pain over extracting teeth without enough freezing etc. the other clinic told me they could not do the job and would find me somewhere else to go. I was sent to Deer Valley to see Dr Shwaluk where he had three of the teeth they had issues get out extracted in ten minutes with very minimal pain.
The front end staff, admin staff, and techs were all just as great.

Definitely not impressed with the lack of professionalism here. I went in for a cleaning and the dentist decided I needed 6 "cavities" filled. At over $200 a cavity. I wasn't comfortable with the whole situation so I decided to go in for a second opinion and requested a new dentist, she then proceeded to tell me that only 2 cavities actually required a filling. Her pricing was much more "affordable". I appreciated this second dentists opinion however, if two dentists working in the same establishment will contradict each other it put a huge red flag up for this business all together. Also, the phone calls every week is really a bit excessive. My family and I have now moved on to a different location and will not be returning.

Everyone seems to have all the time in the world to provide negative feedback...we'll Im not one of them and believe that our world needs to recognize the positives and reality!
I felt it was necessary to provide some factual and helpful information regarding the Deer Valley dental practice and the staff.
As I read through the reviews it was immediately apparent that there was some discretion regarding what I would call unnecessary rants that are far from valid!
I, my kids and entire family have been going to Dr Robertson's practice for years and it is one of the most supportive and professional practices Ive had the pleasure of experiencing and being a part of. Dr Robertson has a high expectation for his practise and it is apparent through the staff of which his Operations Manager Craig ensures on a hourly basis is conducted to reflect the goals and objective of meeting and exceeding patient expectations!

To reflect on some of the review responses: I understand people are in pain and become very agitated and impatient due to their situation, but in my experience at Deer Valley they go over and above supporting patients to mitigate their issues immediately. Hence the long hours and emergency service options. Its a fact that there are situations and times that you just can't make everyone happy, regardless of your efforts!

Do your self a favour and go into the Deer Valley practice and see for yourself that what I continue to experience is reality...You won't regret it!

What an awesome place. No one likes going to the dentist but they make it as comfortable as possible. Came in late to have a tooth pulled and they stayed late to get me out of the pain I was it. I can't thank you guys enough.

If I could give a zero star - I would. I went in as an emergency as I had cracked a wisdom tooth; back story being, I have zero problems with my wisdom teeth and enough room in my mouth that all four of them were able to come in without problems so having one crack was out of the blue. Now, that being said, when I went there - the dentist I saw clearly wasn't interested in helping me, or what I wanted. It was close to the end of their day and I doubt he wanted to do any real work, so he said he was just going to remove my wisdom tooth. Now, as most people who have had them out, I doubt any of them would "recommend" getting them out if you have no problems with them otherwise. So, I told him I didn't want it out, and he gave me a long winded reason why he was REFUSING to just fix my tooth. Needless to say, they then charged me 73$ for a digital photo of my tooth(not an xray, a DIGITAL PHOTO taken with a camera) and for no service rendered. Today, as MY dentist office was then open, I went and saw him, and guess what, I still have my tooth. AND ITS FIXED! (Oh, and did I mention I was in and out of my dentist office within an hour? - took him all of 30 minutes) Why? Because he's a GOOD dentist and listened to what I did and did not want done. Now my cracked wisdom tooth is fixed and I get to write this review on how absolutely HORRIBLE my experience at Deer Valley Dental Care really was, thank you for charging me 73$ for absolutely nothing.

If anyone is reading these reviews and wants to see a dentist they might actually enjoy going to, please visit Canyon Creek Dental - their staff there is fantastic and they listen to what YOU as a patient wants and tries their very best to make it happen.

I sent my boyfriend to Deer Valley on a whim because it was within walking distance from our home and he didn't have a car at the time. Dr. Dhanji was amazing with him (huge dental anxiety) He used up all his benefit coverage on a few major procedures. He went back 8 months later to get more work done with the renewed coverage. 10 days after the procedure, he woke up with a very swollen face and obvious infection. He went right over to the centre after trying to call for over an hour - HE WAS TURNED AWAY!!!! How is this even allowed? Don't you claim to accept new patients AND emergencies?
