The Stampede is hell... we all know it's hell... but we'll be having the best time ever hiding out at Dickens with all the great retro/ 80s/ alternative/ goth music to keep the dancefloor packed and hay bale free. Come down and have fun with us!
As a SPECIAL little added bonus... we will be doing our annual free nighttime pancake breakfast because everybody loves breakfast but nobody likes getting up early. Breakfast b...uffet will be up and running at 8:30 PM.

Went to go see a band call cancer bats and there was so many people that I thought I would never get a drink or anything at the bar. But holy wow they are amazing no disappoint here.

The food is excellent. The sound is always top notch for bands playing there and the staff is amazing.

The bessssst. Always feel safe and comfortable. The staff give a shit. My mom used to dance in the same space in the 80’s so it’s like a family tradition now. Easily my favourite bar in cgay. �

My favourite place to go out. Hang The DJ is awesome, great music! Dickens is a safe space for Calgary's queer community. You are free to be yourself here, the staff and patrons are all lovely. That's what keeps me coming back time and time again. 💖

I've been to Dickens Pub for shows and its retro-ish dance nights, Hang the DJ and London Calling.

The sound has been very good for most of the shows I've seen, and because it's a fairly large place it never feels overly packed.

Hang the DJ and London Calling are great if you like '80s New Wave, 90s Britpop/Indie and some modern indie. The crowd is usually fun and laidback on those nights - particularly at London Calling - and douchebags who do show up tend to stick out and are dealt with promptly or don't stick around too long.

Some of the staff can be a little surly, but not more than other bars. If you have a bad time with the staff, chances are you're being an ass.

Had an excellent time, good food, great people, awesome music.

Great concerts, good beer! Always a good time at this place.

Foods amazing, staff is great, service is quick and it’s a great place to hang out with your friends �
