Dillberry Lake Provincial Park

Tried this campground for the first time this past August long weekend. After a lot of searching for available sites, this one looked the most promising and not too far of a drive from Edmonton. I've always been a fan of Saskatchewan lakes, and since this was on the border of AB/SK, I thought I'd give it a try.
I was a little concerned about the only site available as it looked very close to a road, so I called the info line to inquire. The person I spoke to assured me it was just a service road for campers and shouldn't be too busy, so I booked it.
We arrived and started to set up and quickly discovered how close to the road we were (about 2 ft from it) and it was fairly busy.
The site in the end of the A loop was wide open to the road with no privacy, nor trees. Since we are tenters this wasn't great, but we attempted to set up so we had some privacy. The next day it started to rain pretty heavily it so I attempted to set up a tarp for shelter over an outdoor eating area. Since there were very few trees, our "shelter" was too low (the trees were more like bushes") and didn't work. It was very frustrating being so open and having no shelter from rain, nor sun.
We really didn't like our site at all.
The beach, on the other hand was lovely. It was clean, fairly weed-free and had a playground. The days we didn't have rain, we spent on the beach and in the lake, which was also very clean.

Another downside was the lack of a store onsite or nearby. There's a small concession with a few items, but since this campsite is far from any real towns, you're pretty isolated. The closest town is Wainwright an hour away.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay, despite the site.
If I came back, I'd never reserve the same site again and would recommend they close it since it's so wide open to the road and has no tree shelter, or at least state that this site is not private at all.

Only one main playground area, frequently busy but very nice and calm. Great for families.
