Dr. M. E. Ashenhurst

Specializing in Ophthalmology
Dr. Ashenhurst completed his Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan and his internship in internal medicine at McGill University in Montreal. Dr. Ashenhurst completed his residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Toronto. Following residency, Dr. Ashenhurst completed a year of training in oculoplastic surgery at the University of Toronto and additional training at the University of Saskatchewan and at Moorefield’s Eye Hospital in London England. Dr. Ashenhurst has been practicing in Calgary since 1991

Dr. Ashenhurst treats cataracts and has a special interest in eyelid, orbital and lacrimal disease. Dr. Ashenhurst’s areas of expertise include the medical and surgical management of problems of the eyelids, the bone structures surrounding the eye (orbit) and of the tear glands and ducts (lacrimal system).

Dr. Ashenhurst also performs cosmetic eyelid surgery including the removal of excess skin and fat from the upper and lower eyelids.

Dr. Ashenhurst operates at the Rockyview General Hospital, Alberta Childrens Hospital, Rockyview Surgical Centers and his main office OR.

Dr. Hill completed her ophthalmology residency in Ottawa in 2002 and then went on to complete a pediatrics ophthalmology fellowship in Calgary in 2003.

Her medical and surgical practice includes pediatric ophthalmology, adult strabismus and cataracts.

She co-chairs undergraduate ophthalmology teaching at the University of Calgary and is an examiner for both the Medical Council of Canada and the Royal College of physicians and surgeons of Canada.

Dr. Hill also has extensive experience in medical esthetics including advanced botox, filler and non-surgical face lifts.
