Dr. Paul Whidden

From the first consult to the one year follow up, my experience has been incredible. Wonderful patient care, exceptional results. I couldn't be happier with my outcome and the entire experience. Doctor Whidden is a remarkable surgeon. The anesthesiologist and all the nurses, to Brooke & Vanessa, all made a lasting impact on my surgery experience. I would recommend Doctor Whidden to anyone and everyone. I also trusted his experience and suggestion to go with the size he recommended (a little bigger than I planned, but only by 1.5 tablespoons he said!) and if I could give anyone advice it would be to trust what he says! I'm so happy with the size and shape. This surgery has given me so much more confidence especially after nursing three children. I could not be happier. Thanks Doctor Whidden and your entire team.

I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Whidden, his medical and administrative teams and his new Calgary hospital. Together, they make this relatively unpleasant experience as pleasant as could be. From the front reception, anesthesiologist, nurses that take care of you before and after surgery and at follow-up appts and Dr. Whidden himself, everyone is so professional & knowledgeable, yet compassionate, supportive and empathetic – always considerate of the fact that you are nervous, somewhat shy and a bit emotional. The new hospital (opened a few years ago) on MacLeod trail is beautiful and welcoming.

My first visit to Dr. Whidden was over 10 years ago. He came highly recommended by close friends and (so many) acquaintances for breast augmentation (implants) so I booked my consult with him. I had a very athletic physique at that time and just wanted to look a bit more feminine (but still natural). He spent a lot of time explaining the procedure and letting me know what to expect. I had the breast augmentation (sub-pectoral/under the muscle) a couple of months later and due to the fact that I had so much muscle tissue (due to years of weight training), my results were not symmetrical (thick muscle was pushing one of the implants further down than expected). Obviously I was upset about this but Dr. Whidden kindly assured me that he could correct this – and although it wasn’t his fault, he did the corrective surgery soon after at no additional cost to me. Some people may think this is a negative thing but I know others who have not taken my advice (recently) and have gone outside of the city to have breast augmentation surgery with another well-known surgeon and were not happy with the results and there was no subsequent help provided. My results, on the other hand, were perfect after the corrective surgery.

Fast forward 10 years (after having my kids) and I’ve seen Dr. Whidden and his team a few more times, for breast reduction/lift (smaller implant replacement) and for abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and to remove a cyst that formed on my lip (after having my tooth go through the inside). While he may be a bit more expensive than some other surgeons, there was NO hesitation on my part given my past experience with him – Dr. Whidden is definitely a perfectionist… exactly what everyone wants when it comes to surgeries performed on their bodies, right?! There was no one else I could trust to do such an impeccable job on these areas – my results have been life-changing. Again, I have a friend who did not take my advice to see Dr. Whidden and she went elsewhere for her tummy tuck and she now has issues with her ‘new’ belly button – my ‘new’ belly button looks very natural – this is not an easy task.

What I probably like most about Dr. Whidden are his ethical standards. I know he has age & weight restrictions on certain surgeries (thankfully) and I’ve talked to him about other cosmetic surgeries that I was interested in and he just won’t do them as he knows the results are not consistent or as good as expected (due to gravity, and our natural activity – not due to a surgeon’s skill). I appreciate that he’s honest about surgery limitations and the outcomes and it’s saved me a lot of money - knowing his opinion has prevented me from looking elsewhere for another surgeon to perform the procedure. I like that he’s not just trying to book surgeries and make money (without the benefit to the client)… I respect that he actually cares about people and providing quality procedures – it’s how he has built his clientele to what it is today. I highly recommend Dr. Whidden for any cosmetic procedure – you will get the results you want.

I have officially hit 10 weeks since my
Breast Augmentation with Dr. Paul Whidden, and I could not be happier!! After having a baby followed by a large weight loss (and having never had body confidence), I decided to seek out a surgeon that could help me with my deflated boobs which had lost their previous glory. I visited with many surgeons, and after almost giving up a year later, I found Dr.Whidden. Right from the moment I talked with one of his happy, helpful assistants, I knew I had found the right place. I went in to their beautiful facility and felt comfortable right away, I then got to meet Dr.Whidden himself, who re-confirmed my suspicions that I had found the perfect facility. Dr.Whidden and ALL his staff were very kind, and calm with amazing bedside manner and helped me to ease any worries I had by answering my multitude of questions. After much discussion (and many sizer try-ons) we agreed on Allergan Smooth Round Extra Full Projection 495cc's under the muscle. The surgery was quick and went very smoothly, I woke up what seemed like moments later to a very minor amount of pain and with TONS of happiness!! I loved my new breasts right from the moment I saw them (even in Franken-boob form!). They healed very quickly, and I was able to put my arms over my head by day 3!! The entire recovery was fast and hassle-free; they have dropped beautifully and evenly, and I love them more every day, which has given me the confidence I have always yearned for!! Just as I told my doctor at my six week check-up, if I knew how incredibly happy I would be AFTER the modification, I would have easily paid double, knowing what a fantastic experience and transformation this has been!! Thank you VERY much to Dr.Whidden and his wonderful team, you have changed my life for the better!!!

Awesome Experience... I really can't say enough about Dr. Whidden and his staff. I started off by looking at reviews and reading about the different doctors out there doing this kind of work. I made the appointment with Dr. Whidden... A year ago I had a Tummy Tuck and a Breast Implants done by him. I look AMAZING for a 55 year old woman. You are never too old to go for something you've always wanted. I have had more compliments from people, other doctors, assistants, so on. You can barely see my scars. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Whidden for this type of surgery.... You won't be disappointed. Dr. Whidden is an extremely nice man, and his staff are incredible. They truly care and take care of their patients.
