About Dr. Vincentia Aung Family Dentistry

We believe our approach to dental care is unique. The first time you visit, we like to meet with you face-to-face to get to know you and to understand your dental priorities and goals. Establishing a partnership is important to us. We will listen to you, inform you of your choices, and honour your decisions. Together, we can move towards achieving your oral health goals.

Dr. Vincentia Aung:

Vincentia received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Toronto after completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Honours Physiology at the University of Alberta. She subsequently pursued a dental residency program at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto where she gained valuable experience in treating complex dental cases while working with medically compromised patients and patients with physical and mental disabilities.

Vincentia grew up with the influence of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) learned from her father. She formalized this education by completing the Certificate Program of Medical Acupuncture at the University of Alberta, which culminated in learning acupuncture, TCM and Qi Gong at various TCM hospitals in Beijing, China. She enjoys combining both Western and Eastern philosophies when practicing dentistry and views dental health as it relates to one’s general health, well-being and quality of life. She also enjoys continuing education by attending various seminars and conferences, and is a member of the Edmonton District Dental Society. In addition, Vincentia enjoys teaching part-time as a clinical instructor at the U of A, Faculty of Dentistry. When she is not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband Craig and their new daughter.

Dr. Catherine Fletcher:

Dr. Fletcher received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Alberta after completing degrees in Anthropology and Linguistics. In her early days of practicing dentistry she developed a love of fixed restorative dentistry – crowns, veneers, etc. She completed advanced training at the Foundation for Advanced Continuing Education in California studying full- mouth reconstruction. She has received an award for teaching excellence from the University of Alberta and is a past-president of the Edmonton and District Dental Society. Cathy has two children and has discovered the joys and challenges of dentistry for children. But whether she is working with an adult patient to help create the smile the way they want, or with a child to ensure a lifetime of oral health, her driving desire and passion is to enhance her patient’s quality of life. She does this by understanding patients well enough to know what is important to him or her. Her favorite question is “How can I be of service to you?”
