Update: Rob from Driving Force professionally dealt with the issues pertaining to the charges from the vehicle repairs and was able to refund them. He was good to work with and resolved the issues in a timely manner.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY! We have had a horrible experience in renting from Driving Force. It was advertised as "at the airport," and that was far from the truth. After realizing they ARE NOT at the airport, we waited over 30 minutes for the shuttle. In fact, at one point the shuttle passed by the appointed pick up location while we were standing there waiting. They didn't even look or slow down. After another call, we were finally assured a driver was on their way. Ride was over 20 minutes to the off airport location.

Our return date was on a holiday, so we were instructed to return the vehicle to a hotel. The clerk merely took the keys and did not inspect the vehicle. After the $500 deposit was not refunded, we were informed they were assessing us over $800 in damages. The vehicle was returned in the same condition as when it was rented. The photo shows a small dent and mud scraped off, which was not there when we left the vehicle. What happened in the hotel lot is not our responsibility, it should be the responsibility of the hotel or rental agency.

UPDATE: I spoke with Rob from Driving Force and he was very pleasant and reasonable to work with. He said that our experience highlighted a gap in their system and he was able to refund the charges for the vehicle repairs. I'm happy he was able to resolve this matter so quickly and professionally.

We booked through Priceline and the rental agency was advertised as "at the airport". Not quite. You have to wait forever for a bus at the airport and then drive 20+ minutes to the pick up location. The pickup procedure seemed pretty standard. When we returned the vehicle it was a holiday so they had us drop of the vehicle at a hotel. No one at the hotel went and inspected the vehicle, they only took the keys. A few days later when my deposit wasn't yet refunded, I emailed asked them to please process that. Of course, I didn't get a response. Now over a week later I get a call saying we damaged the car and they are assessing us over $800!! They sent me photos and an estimate for repairs. The photos show a small dent and mud scraped off, which I am positive was not there when we left the vehicle. What happened to the vehicle in that hotel lot should be the hotel's or the rental agency's responsibility, not ours! They have already charged our credit card and will only keep repeating that this is our responsibility.

Okay, I got off the plane but couldn't find Driving Force in any of the airport directories in Calgary. However, I asked for information at the kiosk, and called them. Driving Force told me where I was to go and as I got to the curb just they were loading up the van (so I didn't wait at all). However, those travelers who were already there were complaining loudly that they had to wait "over and hour" for the pickup. My car was clean, efficient, and brand new (about 7K miles 15Kilo). Based on MY experience, I totally enjoyed using Driving Force. There was one small "con" to this praise: Their office/car lot is FAR from the airport in Calgary, so expect a 20 minute + ride to get your car. Bonus praise: After my trip, my credit card company also wanted them to send proof of my rental (I was being reimbursed for hurricane Harvey) and DrivingForce promptly and easily agreed to email my statement for submission to the credit card company.

The mini-van we rented was brand new, the facility is clean, and the staff was super friendly. However, they dropped an additional $135 in fees on top of my quoted rental for dropping the car at the hotel near the airport ($5) and they explained the customer facility charge ($42) and concession fee recovery ($83) is for the use of the airport and the shuttle (which functionally took us 1.5 hours to get to the rental facility) I don't go to Calgary enough to know if all rental car companies do that, but it seemed sleezy to me. It was Stampede and I they were the only ones who had a van available.

Was shuttled from airport to Car Rental, driver was very pleasant and friendly. Staff at Rental office was great! We were dealt with quickly so we could get on our way. the vehicle as brand new with only 400 km so very much enjoyed a new vehicle. because we were dropping the vehicle off on a Sunday when office was closed Driving Force Rentals had an arrangement with hotel near airport to drop car off and we were shuttle to our airline at the Calgary airport. We will definitely use them again in our next trip to Calgary. Thanks for the Great experience.

This is a little way out from the airport, around 30 mins. I made the reservation with Expedia and was quoted in U.S dollars, obviously i did not take into account that I would be charged at the location in Canadian dollars.. but hey, this was my first time booking a rental.
Anyway, so we was supposed to be picked up at the airport by the courtesy shuttle, but their driver was sick and we was asked to get a cab to their location.
The staff was really polite and apologetic, and instead of reimbursing me for the cab, they took off the taxes which was ideal, since the taxes was a little higher than the cab fare.
Drop off was a tad strange, since my flight was after office hours, I had to drop off the car at the Hampton Inn near the airport and get a shuttle.

A little far from the airport (around 20min) and complicated to figure out how to make them come and get you. But overall cheap and upgraded us to a RAV4 which is nice for with terms driving.

User

Terrible customer service, they did not even rent to us after trying to sort out the "deposit". Never recommend renting from this place.

Very helpful and informative. Rob created a pleasant buying experience and was able to answer all my questions. Even after my purchase he was willing to guide me through all the creature comforts my new truck had to offer. I would recommend driving force for anyone interested in purchasing a truck.
