Ecole Steffie Woima Elementary School

Preparing for the World of Work! Our grade 5 and 6 students enjoyed a Career and Technology Foundation (CTF) presentation this afternoon by Julian Fogarty, an architect. By exposing our students to different careers and jobs, our hope is to have them start thinking about their plans beyond high school. We have guests coming in most Fridays to share information about their chosen career. In the spring, the students will research a career of interest and we will hold a career fair in the gym. We would like to extend a special thank you to all of our guest speakers! Thank you!!!

Mr McWade's students are working hard :-) Students have recycled/recovered over 40 meters of copper wire from the various electronics in their breaker space that will be used in their science curriculum to explore electricity and magnetism.

Tomorrow is the day! Kindergarten registration opens tomorrow at 9 am for your student turning 5 by December 31, 2019. Pre-Kindergarten Applications will also be available online for those turning 4 by December 31, 2019. The Fogarty boys made a VERY generous donation of $216 to our school's STEPS program. They raised the money selling Epicure at town markets. Josh and Cian each worked a market and Liam helped with signage, set up and take down! Thanks so much for your kindness and for giving back to our school.

The Canyon ski trip is SO much fun! Next date for Grade 5-6 skiing is January 18th.

Thanks to our Fox Run friends for joining us this morning! Our kids had so much fun.

Concert week has been amazing! Just the grade 4-6 concerts left today (12:45 this afternoon and 6:30 tonight). The kids have been doing fantastic. Thanks to all who have joined us so far.
