Edmonton And District Historical Society Description

The Edmonton and District Historical Society is a chapter of the Historical Society of Alberta (HSA), a provincial historical organization that has affiliations with museums, libraries and other history-related facilities and organizations across the province.

THE PHYLLIS ARNOLD LEARNING FUND: For several years EDHS has been the beneficiary of the PALF. This money is generously provided by retired publisher and educator Phyllis Arnold, and is received through the Edmonton Community Foundation.
The money provided by PALF has allowed EDHS to run several important programs over the years, including History in the Classroom and History in the Community, through which free presentations are available from professional historians on a variety of topics. The PALF also allows EDHS to help provide funding to the Edmonton Regional Heritage Fair, and to subsidize bussing to and from the History Centre for students attending programming at the Fort Heritage Precinct in Fort Saskatchewan.
