As we have stated already, Mystery Corner is in desperate need of a rebuild. We now have dates, weather permitting anyway. The track will be closed from July 26 until Aug 7. It may take less time, but not likely more (but who knows). This is a perfect opportunity to go race at St Albert to prep for Provincials. Or pay Stony a visit.

For those of you who have ordered a jersey or track hoodie in the 2nd run, AND are going to be in Red Deer this weekend, you can grab them from John there. Everyone else can wait till next week.

Following a great amount of internal board discussion, we have found that our Concession Coordinator is stepping down because she feels overworked. Understandable. The reason she feels overwhelmed is because she is spending more time than she should WORKING in the concession due to lack of volunteers. Let's be clear here, WORKING the concession is not the coordinators role. So, new rule effective immediately. Moving forward if there is no one signed up to run the concession, the concession will NOT open. It's that simple. We know you all like candy bags, hot dogs, and Peace Tea, so maybe step up and help out in there.

Here are current standing in the Aurora Series! Two more races to go so lets all turn up, ride hard, and take home the title! Reg is already open for St Albert. http://auroranorthernbmx.com/

User

Ryan S, you are now an Expert. Congrats buds! Break a leg this weekend.
Actually, don't.

Edmonton BMX is now recruiting new board members for the 2019 season. We are in need of a few KEY positions. Treasurer. If you are an accountant, or own your own business, this will be easy. If you have a solid understanding of bookkeeping it will be a steep but doable learning curve. If you are an idiot like me, it will be impossible. Track Operator. This is a position that we would like to start training right away to get you up to speed. Responsible for moto building, reg...istration on race nights, and submitting results to the ABA. There will be PLENTY of help on this one as our current TO will still be around but wants less commitment. Concession Coordinator. Does not mean you have to man concession every night, as we have volunteers for that. But it does mean that you have to ensure that the concession is stocked. As well you would be the point person on the Prov race concession if we have one. Our current CC is finding it a bit much as a shift worker. Someone with a day gig, or a stay at home parent would be better suited. Board membership means you can say goodbye to writing volunteer cheques and tracking credits, and there are some other perks as well. Speak up if you are interested.

Thanks to Red Deer BMX for hosting round 2 of the Aurora Series. All tracks were well represented. Shame about the weather, but the burgers were top shelf, and the track looks dialled for next weekend. Can’t wait! See you guys in a week.

Jaxsen B moves up to Expert! WOOOT!!

User

http://auroranorthernbmx.com/ NOTE : You can’t enter multiples for this to work, as the registration form that pops up only works once. What does that mean if you are registering 5 riders? You have to “add the item to the cart” 5 different times, not change the quantity to 5 then add to cart. See you tomorrow!

User

Show up hungry. And with cash.

User

Hey, did you know we have 4 security cameras recording 24/7? Neither did dirtbag!

User

Dear Dirtbag. How long did this take you? Like really? Was it worth it? A quick inventory says it wasn’t. Was the alarm really loud? Is that what scared you? Did you really think we would keep anything of value in a seacan WITHOUT an alarm? All those hours of work you put in scoping the place out, and god knows how long it took you to chisel out the latch, were not hours that made you rich. And that makes me happy. Police are on site, we’ll see if they find prints or if th...e security camera caught anything. I for one would love to find out who you are, and what makes you so special that you can self justify stealing from a kid-focused non-profit. I’ll tell you this though, with the amount of welding, fortifying, and security upgrades going on right this second, you won’t be getting in again. I hope you hands hurt.

No forgetting. Friday DBL points racing in Red Deer. Great opportunity to get on the track the week before you race a Provincial there.

User

Until further notice please do not attempt to text in your riders registration. We are still having issues there. Please use the email or in person options. Hopefully we get this fixed soon. Thanks!

Took my little ones here for the stryder cup this past weekend, and it was amazing! It was well organized despite the sea of minions shredding every which way on the track. My kids had such a good time, we will be back a very soon. Even gave my boy a band aid and freezy to fix his skinned knee. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating.

User

This is our first year and we’re loving it! We have one daughter in the stryder races and a son in novs 6 racing! It’s been an absolute blast and the people who run this are even more amazing. Our kids and my husband and I absolutely love this place

Edmonton BMX organization is truly amazing. My son joined last year leaving Club Soccer behind him at age 11. We were so impressed with how organized and helpful all the volunteers are they really are all such great people. If you are thinking of trying out a new sport I would highly recommend BMX and Edmonton BMX you will quickly be welcomed into a large family that supports riders and parents. Lots of activities all season including camps and free training. Membership is minimal. Track is open to new riders all year long week nights is when we are mostly active at the track. Most weekends there is no racing unless we have special events. Come check out the sport you will quickly see why it is so much fun. Thanks again to everyone that runs the track we really appreciate what you all do.
