We were at the Shaw Conference Centre, and so happy we attended. Enjoyed food and drinks in a beautiful setting. I have to mention the live music 🎶 too. Shaw patio party = perfect.

User

Very enjoyable time. Everything was well organized. Staff was very polite & helpful. Thanks.

User

Such an amazing venue for artists as well as an incredibly supportive team! It was an honour to be a part of the Shaw's second annual Art Night. 100% would recommend.

User

Seen Slayer last night. I had no problem getting in the venue. Security check was quick & Courtois.. Ticket confirmation was a breeze! Although the lineups for the bathroom were long they were somewhat quick.. (You Need More Bathrooms for a Hall That Size) Beer gardens were well organized. I had a Blast!! The actual Shows were Freakin' Awesome!!! Crowd Surfing & Mosh Pits of Doom!! It was great..should have turned on the air-conditioning though... Just saying I paid $80 turn on the air!!! LoL! I've Seen The Cult & Manson's Anti Christ Superstar Tour at The Shaw.. I'll go again to watch another show if you improve the bathroom situation. Over all good experience.

User

I’ve been to a million shows the last 3 have been at the shaw, my new favourite venue! Ps halestorm or stone sour has taken my liver hostage

User

Great space with delicious food and staff who are still personable despite the event of 500+ people!

User

Food and service were top notch. Sound and lights for the event were excellent. I would highly recommend this venue for an event.

User

The food served at the summer patio event was really good however I found that the room was kind of chilly. We weren't eating the food outside, it was served and eaten indoors.

User

Solid venue. They could have a few more water fountains and bathrooms but all in all a good place for a concert.

User

I was at Slayer and co. Only complaint is that there is no free parking compared to venues back home in Sask.

User

I loved the acoustics. The sound was great and not too loud. I did not like the seating however. All the seats were touching each other and unfortunately I was seated beside a very heavy man whose arms extended over to nearly 1/2 of my chair. At first I sat with my back arched sideways as i could not sit straight in my chair. After a while though my back was in horrific pain. I then tried to sit sideways hugging into my husband, but after a while this too was uncomfortable. We moved over one seat a bit later as there were 2 empty seats beside us. It is a good thing our neighbours were no shows as otherwise it would have been a very painful evening. I understand you are there to make money, but the seating is very close together - a bit too close. Maybe consider moving chairs apart in these circumstances. I'm not blaming this gentleman, but I should also be entitled to reasonable accommodations for the seat I am paying for - not a 1/2 seat. Otherwise it was very enjoyable. Now mowing the layout I will try and opt for an end seat.

User

Attended the SACE gala. Set up was good, bars were efficient but could have used a little more variety in white wine. Kale salad left something to be desired with its plainness but chicken dinner was delicious as was the dessert. Sound system works well and lots of bathrooms, some gender neutral.

User

The line to get out was ridiculous... same with the coat check line. Besides that the venue is good for concerts.

User

Saw In This Moment in concert and has a number of issues as to how the event was handled.

This was an all ages rock/metal show. I was really disappointing to see that they allowed crowd surfing and violent physical abuse in the crowd in front of the stage. I have been to venues that do not allow crowd surfing and find everyone is much safer that way. The stage was at eye level to the floor meaning that anyone on the floor that wasn't in the front few rows couldn't see anything!!!! 2 more feet higher and everyone would have been able to see.

I appreciate that security was giving people in the crowd water to drink since it was an absolute crush of people as they tried to get people to stop pushing their was forwards crushing young people and those with smaller builds. No one was safe in there.

User

I thoroughly enjoyed the show! Thanks for letting the great metal bands come play. The security was great! They would give out water to people at the front of the stage. However there was too many people and they were too pushy and rude. I had to get lifted out of the crowd because I could not breathe. I think that concerts like In This Moment, Avatar, etc should be 18+ because there was so many underage people getting hurt in the mosh pits. They were crying because of it.

User

Bad stuff first.... OK, steps down from Jasper Ave.. really.. ok in the summer but winter... Edmonton... that’s a bad design right there!!! Seems a bit of a maze to get in, round and down and round again, not the best! Trapping everybody in a bottle neck trying to get through one door to get to coat check area EVEN if you didn’t check a coat? Good job this was in Canada! in the UK the other doors would have been torn open for sure! lol

Good stuff... security, fast and efficient. Acoustics, very good. Stage height also good, had an excellent view even stood about 10 -12 rows back ( I’m average height not over 6ft)

All in all decent but the building design for access for that many people especially in winter, POOR!

User

We've been to A Taste of Anime for three years running; not once has the escalators worked both directions. Really, how difficult is it to get the escalators to work? Think they can fix them for Animethon in August?

Let's start with the icy decline down the stairs to what seemed to be taking us to Narnia... I have been to many shows here over the years and gone through the main doors like human beings - this was unreal! I was with someone who just survived being hit by a truck and multiple surgeries later he is made to unnecessarily use the every staircase in and around this place?? Not cool

Then there was the line up for tickets to get and/or snacks.... waste of time... a lot of time.... these people wanted to have a snack while they watched the show they now missed half of for popcorn....

I could go on all night but my last slow clap goes to the "security" in the beer gardens.... I wasn't so bothered by not being able to go for a smoke because there was so much cigarette and weed smoke in that area I had to get outta there

Pretty sure that will be my last show at this venue.

At least the show was awesome! No credit goes to the venue for that...

User

I went to the I love the 90's tour. It was my first time ever going to the shaw. The show was awesome. We had to leave about a half hour before the show ended. I have degenerative arthritis in my knee and hips and was experiencing major discomfort. Before I went my friends told me there was an elevator if i ended up having problems with the stairs. Also my cousin has MS and we were both tired. After doing the first set of stairs to get to the coat check I was done for. I was standing by the escalator and it was blocked off. I was looking for a way to get to the elevator or escalator. That's when a woman security in a yellow shirt came and rudely said you have to proceed up the stairs. I looked at her and said I was trying to find the way to the elevator? She looked me up and down and with a petulant look and said with a smirk "is it absolutely necessary" I was immediately offended. My husband was concerned for me but I got upset and started trying to make the stairs one at a time as he supported me. Is this the way your staff is trained?? I really felt like she assumed I was lazy and didn't need the equipment that is there specifically for people with ailments and disabilities. That equipment is so that people with disabilities and ailments can enjoy your shows! I'm not sure if I would come back after this :(. I think that if I did I would talk to someone immediately to make sure that if I have problems I can use the elevator ect. If someone asks to use the elevator and looks in obvious distress that they should be trained to offer help instead of rude looks and comments.
